  1. Have you tried cottage cheese? Depending on the brand can have up to 13 grams of protein in it.
  2. I know it's a big decision. I was banded a month ago. It's been a huge lifestyle change, but I was tired of always being overweight and decided this was the best option for me. My family, friends, and co-workers are still very supportive and that helps. In a month I has able to lose 14 lbs. There are days that are harder than others, and I have to make a conscious effort to not go back to my old ways, but it gets easier everyday. It's the best decision I've ever made. If you decide to have the band just make sure you do it for yourself.
  3. My surgeon has me on protein drinks for the first two weeks, then I can gradually add protein in for one meal a day and continue drinking the protein drink the other two. Hang in there I know it's tough but it's true something is working. I lost 9 lbs in 9 days.
  4. Congrats to all that were just approved. I know it's very exciting. My insurance was quick, my surgeons office submitted it on a Tuesday and it was approved on that Thursday. It can be a long process, my insurance required, cardiac, pulmonary, psych, and primary care clearance. I was banded on June 8th. If any one has questions feel free to ask. Good luck to all.
