  1. I'm at Wise County Medical Center, Dr. Stowers.
  2. Good luck everyone!!!! I'm ready for the 31st to hurry up and get here!! I really wish my surgery was tomorrow!! I'm ready to be not hungry!!! (Clear liquid diets stink!!!)
  3. 2 Days until my surgery!! Getting a bit nervous. Just transitioned onto clear liquids only!!! Conetha, I know how you feel!!! Hungry is never fun!! I wouldn't eat anything your doctor wouldn't be okay with. . .I'm having snow cones today. . . it lets me chew but it's liquid. . . just flavored it with low sugar white grape juice! Hang in there!!! Try some distraction techniques!! For me, when I get really hungry, I read a book, or take a bath, or call my best friend on the phone. . . or go outside and walk, or ride my horses. It works, mostly. . still hungry, but I've been hungry all week. . .
  4. Congratulations!!!!! I'm a neighbor that just got approved!!! My Mom lives in Colleyville!! I'm in Wise County!!! How fantastic that you are about to have this done!!! My surgery is on March 31st! I was lucky because my insurance only took about a week to approve me. .. I can't imagine the stress of waiting!!
  5. Oh yay!!!!! I have a band buddy!!!! Lol. I'm getting a little nervous but I really just want it to be over with already!!! I'm so tired of this pre-op diet!!!! Hope everything goes well for you this time!!!
  6. I don't have the band yet but I will say once you start hurting with the gall bladder it only gets worse. And it hurts and hurts. I had mine out and it was the best decision I've made to date!!! It was an easy surgery for me. . .I was back up and moving and ready for work the NEXT day. Good luck!!!!
  7. I have no suggestions. I'm so tired of sweets I can hardly stand it!!!!! I can't eat tomato juice or soup, and cream soups sound yucky too. .. so that leaves me with slimfast and stuff like that. . . I think this might be the hardest part!!
  8. I'm having a bit of the nerves myself! My surgery is on Tuesday and I really just want it to hurry up and get here already!! I keep thinking I'm going to miss steak, or I can't live without chips and hot sauce one more minute. . . but I come on here, look for those oldies who've been through it and are at their goal. . and it helps!!! Glad to hear I'm not alone!! Liquid diets are cruel though. Lol. I like the comparison to asking a cocaine addict to go cold turkey a week before they enter rehab!!!
  9. What a great birthday present!!!!! I hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
  10. I'm getting banded the 31st!! Is that close enough to this week to count!!! I hope all of your surgeries go well!!!
  11. My doctor doesn't even mention loosing weight prior to the surgery. I hope yours will set a date!!
  12. Well I'm replacing two meals a day with either slim fast/ ensure, or a Protein shake (vanilla in chocolate milk, sooooo yummy) and I made a big pot of tortilla soup with Beans, been blending the fool out of it and then straining it. I'm not a sweet fan so the craving for 'food' was strong until I started adding the soup in. It is really low fat, low cal, high in protein so I didn't feel too bad. . . I have to start a clear liquid only on Sunday and Monday. I have no idea how I'm going to manage that!! But I'm taking this one day at a time!
  13. I'm getting a little nervous too. I was able to ignore the impending surgery date (March 31st) until today, when I started my week long liquid diet. . .I keep telling myself it will be as easy as my gall bladder surgery!!! Here's hoping!!! Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. I worry for my 3 year old too! I was signing the consent forms yesterday and about 10 pages in I got a bit panicky, so I skimmed the risks (since I'd already read them prior to deciding to do this) instead of reading them again in detail. Helped! lol.
  14. My Surgery date is Tuesday, March 31st. I'm excited!!! Anyone else going on that day?
  15. I'm late to the party but I'm being banded on March 31st!! Just made it into the March Club!!! It's really fun to see all of your tickers!! Looking forward to this journey!
  16. Hi everyone!! I'm Amy. I am scheduled for a lapband procedure on March 31st. .. I'm VERY excited and a little nervous. My Doctor has a support group for us patients but I'm a big fan of forums so I decided to come find a lap band forum to join!!! I've been lurking a bit and the success stories are inspiring!!! I'm looking forward to being a success story!! My main goal is to get healthy. I'm going to be 30 this year, and I've been overweight since I was 9 or so. Runs in the family. I'm still healthy and pretty active but I want to be more active!! I have a 3 year old and don't play as much as I would like. I also ride horses. I do trails now but in college I did endurance racing and barrel racing. (Endurance is long distances on horseback pretty fast). I'm in no where near good enough shape now to compete but by the time I'm 35 I want to be competing again. Would be fun to bring my old horse back too. (She just turned 21 this year. .. ) Other than that I'm a photographer and stay at home Mom. It's a great job combo! Looking forward to getting to know you all!
