  1. Yes I got 4 all to this thread in one go. Hopefully that means this issue is now fixed.
  2. The main problem is the lack of email notifications. I have checked and changed my settings and they are still not working. I have checked my spam folder and they are not in there. I have a gmail account. The other issue is that previously you gave me a link that took me to a page that listed the new threads. I found this far easier to use than having to visit each individual forum to see what is new and of possible interest. This link no longer works. Please can we/I have a link to a page that does the same. The new content does not do the same thing as that shows new posts rather than new threads.
  3. As far as I am aware AOL has no impact on my mail. I have a gmail account and I am not receiving the notifications. It worked perfectly prior to the upgrade.
  4. I didn't realise there was such a thing until I read this thread. I have a 12 good. No idea what it means. Maybe it's a bit like an ebay user rating but who scores and how would be interesting to know.
  5. It's not working for me either and it's driving me nuts.
  6. I have tried resetting my settings and it still isn't working. I liked to be able to enter the thread where I left off. To have to come into the site and search for what may or may not be new is just a time wasting PITA. I think a lot of the "older" more experienced bandsters will probably leave which is sad for the newer people that could benefit from their experience. It also seems like Alex doesn't care because if he did he might read some of these threads and offer us assistance. In the end it all seems to be down to $$$$$$$. How naive of us to think that this site was actually a lapband support site. It would have been nice if a general message had gone out to all members before the changeover warning us that it was going to happen and another one when it was completed explaining the changes and how to be able to easily navigate the new site.
  7. Please give the rest of us tips . It's not doing it for me.

Aren't we supposed to have freedom of speech. Give him a medal and stop trying to set him up for crimes he didn't commit.
  9. Thanks It's not the new posts I'm looking for it's the new threads. I used to have a link that took me to a page that showed them but it no longer works. Hovering over thread titles doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment either. I always used to get email notifications , have checked my settings to see if changing those helps. It hasn't - I didn't get a notification that you had replied! If this doesn't get sorted out I am going to give up as it's just too hard.I can see that there may be a lot of members that give up which will be a pity.
  10. It means you are too tight - you need to get some fill taken out.
  11. I read about this in an English womans mag. The woman involved lost all her excess weight and looks great. I don't know how you could be hypnotised into believing you had surgery. No scars, no fills, no hospital bill etc......... I tried hypnosis previously to lose weight and they couldn't even hypnotise me into believing I didn't like chocolate! I suppose it depends on how susceptible to hypnosis you are.
  12. Apart from the issues with the LBT that have already been pointed out there are a few more that I would like to raise. Previously I used to get email notifications when threads that I had posted in or subscribed to had new messages. This is no longer happening. I really don't have the time or the inclination to keep logging into the site and then trying to find out if there is anything new or not and where it is. Please bring back the email notifications as it is a far quicker and easier method of replying to threads that I am interested in. Ditto private messages - I am not getting email notifications for those either. I don't understand the quote thing. I got a notification(not via email) that someone had quoted something I had posted. When I followed the link I could not see the quote.I am not sure what the purpose of this is or how it is supposed to work. Please create a page where we can see a list of NEW THREADS. This is far more user friendly than having to go into each seperate forum. If I have to do that then I am not going to bother. Please restore the functionality of being able to see what a thread is about without opening it. I understand the change due to advertising but I do not understand why functionality that we previously had has disappeared. Surely we should be getting improvements not going backwards which is what it appears is happening at the moment.
  13. Well I'm obviously absurd. I got the op with a BMI of 32. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Staying obese was far more dangerous than getting the band. If I was you I would be careful about crossing the rd or driving your car. Those are highly dangerous activities.
  14. You should call your Dr now! This sounds like an infection which if left untreated could be serious. It is not likely to be fluid from inside your band. That would be clear and there is only a small quantity.
  15. Thought I would copy and paste this from another forum I belong to. and he found the lapband tubing was curled up and pressing on my diaphragm just as he suspected - it had caused numerous adhesions and he said he found a lot of scar tissue in the area also. They shortened the tubing so it won't cause any hassles anymore, and removed the adhesions. So now I'm recovering.. and the pain is gone!! I mean I do have some pain from the gas sitting under the diaphragm.. and the incisions and the area itself where they had the surgery.. but it is in No way anywhere as bad as what I've been suffering through this year. Extremely happy.. thrilled even to be able to look forward to a pain free future, and get back on track with my weight loss again.
  16. Love your post Elfie. It is so true - there is not any one size fits all solution and no WLS is magical - they all still require constant work and attention to "diet".
  17. Alex - can you please give me a link where I can see the new threads ( as per the old old LBT). I don't want to see new posts and I don't want to go into each forum individually as it is a PITA! You gave me a link that worked last time you changed the site but it doesn't seem to work now. Also hating the new format. The supposed 48 hours to upgrade was much longer than that and since then I have had no notifications. Been away for a couple of days and trying to navigate my way around and wondering if I should just give up. This is definitely not "user friendly the way it used to be. And I agree I don't want to have to open a thread to see if it is interesting or not. I also want to be able to do that by just "hovering" the mouse over the title. (That function would be useful in the sister sites too).
  18. I think you are confusing what "restriction " is. If you are able to eat small/er meals of healthy foods , be satisfied for a number of hours and you are not hungry then you have restriction. Restriction is not about not being able to eat certain foods. You may find that over time you start eating bigger portions or getting hungry sooner. This happens because the band loosens over time. That is when you would need another fill.
  19. Wow that was "lucky". Hope everything turns out OK. Wishing you all the best.
  20. I love cinnamon I always add it to my oats, greek yogurt and muesli.
  21. I don't think I have changed the way I think about food. I still love chocolate, cake etc. Fast food was never an issue, I was never a big fast food fan. I love sweet stuff. I think it is because my band is doing what it is supposed to be doing. BTW I didn't make that cup of tea , I made a mug of skinny hot chocolate instead!
  22. I suppose it depends on your definition of hunger. I had Breakfast 2.5 hours ago. Am I hungry? No, not really. Am I thinking about food? Yes. Would I be able to eat something now? Yes. Am I going to go and get something to eat now? No, because I know that I'm not really HUNGRY. I will probably go and make myself a nice cup of tea - that should keep me satisfied for another hour which means that I can probably stretch it until lunch time. Preband I would have probably had 3 biscuits, a slice of toast and still be looking for something to eat. So for me the NEED TO EAT kind of hunger has gone away and has been replaced by the something to eat would be nice but I don't really need it kind of hunger. Which is great because it means that I am back in control.
  23. I'm sure she will be fine. It is quite normal for BP to be low after surgery. They should have her on a drip to keep her fluids up. keep us updated.Your Mum is lucky she has such excellent support.
