The Lap Band Doesn't Work...
I am now 24kg lighter and happily maintaining, something I have tried many times before and never managed. Could it be the band, no that must just be coincidence,it must be that after all these attempts I have eventually worked it out all by myself

I Never Thought I'd Say This But
Congrats - I am jealous. Just looked at your pics and think you look pretty amazing even without the TT, certainly no sign of the pear shaped hips and things that you keep telling us you have.

Lap Band Fills
Well you are unlikely to feel full the way you did before you got the band. What you should be aiming for is satisfied. If you go past that and eat too much you will find that the new full or overfull is very very uncomfortable.

I Swear I Can Feel My Lap Band!
It's obviously bone that you couldn't feel before through the layers of fat.

What To Eat In The First 2 Weeks after Lap Band Surgery!
On my Dr's suggestion I made lots of homemade veggie soups with beans , lentils etc added for protein and blended to liquid. They were healthy, yummy, satisfying and extra bonus they tasted like real food.(Probably because they are). In Aus we tend to focus more on proper, natural foods rather than commercial, processed, artificial ones

Dr. Oz Show Turned My Mom Off To Wls
I think that your Mum should just turn off Dr Oz. I beleieve he is a complete and utter quack and most of the stuff on his show is rubbish. I did watch about 5 minutes of the show that showed these supposed lapband patients and the couple of teaspoons of food that they eat daily. That is so false, that is not what a band is about and that is not how we eat.

Sous Vide Cooking
I believe that you can get the same result by vacuum sealing meat in a bag and then cooking it in hot water. You may want to try looking that up on the net - a vacuum selaer might be a cheaper option.

Banded September 2009 And It's Getting Harder!
I am actually going to suggest the opposite to Corrigan. Try sucking crushed ice. It is possible that you are swollen from the vomiting and ice helps to reduce swelling. So think ice as being first aid when you have a problem. Warm liquids help to relax a stressed or tight band and are good first thing in the morning.

No Lap Band Fill After 2 Months & Still Losing?
Yes you are correct

The Order of Operations...
Looking at it again and the sum would make far more sense if it had brackets in , the lack thereof is what leads to the confusion!

The Order of Operations...
You can add as many "1s" as you want it won't change the answer - it is x zero and anything times zero is always zero!

Nausea After Lapband Surgery??
I struggled with postop nausea until I was allowed to eat some soup. I think mine was from too much sweet, artificial "food" (shakes etc) my body wanted some real food.

Wierd Ringing Feeling In My Lap Band And Port?
Something to do with air pressure probably but I'm not a science geek so not sure. If you hadn't started by saying you went to a concert I was going to say it was ringing because it's Christmas!

What Was The Deciding Factor To Finally Lose The Weight?
Mine was never a decision to finally lose the weight. I had been trying to lose the weight most of my life. Sometimes I was successful, sometimes I wasn't but the problem was it always went back on. Also it was getting harder and harder to lose any at all. So mine was a realisation that I needed help to lose and keep the weight off, that it wasn't something I could do on my own.

Stomach Is Having Major Growling Hunger Pains After Lap Band Surgery??
I don't think I was in any way offensive or rude. I was genuinely concerned but because this is the internet it is not possible for you to see the body language , expressions etc which leaves posts open to misinterpretation. If you are sticking to your plan then all is good. Wishing you all the best and don't worry you will soon be able to add more variety to your diet.

Stomach Is Having Major Growling Hunger Pains After Lap Band Surgery??
As the others have said a noisy stomach does not = hunger. Mine makes noises all the time, it is something you get used to. Please don't take my next comment the wrong way but I am a little concerned about you. You have just been banded and a lot of your posts seem to involve looking for ways to eat more, jump ahead of the eating plan etc. I am concerned that you may not be receiving the support that you need at this stage of the process or that your Dr may not have given you all the info on the post op diet that you need. At this stage of the process it is important that you follow the plan and do not jump ahead but the other thing to remember is that your current focus is on healing not weight loss. Eat or drink the things that you are allowed and do so in sufficient quantities so that you are not hungry. Most Dr's allow foods at this point that are not allowed later on because they are high cal/sliders e.g custard, icecream etc. The thing that helped me most were homemade veggie Soups with beans/lentils/chickpeas added for extra Protein and then blended until smooth. They tasted like food which all the shakes and sweet stuff didn't. If you are struggling and want to eat something that is not on your plan then the best thing to do is to ask your Dr if it is OK. If you ask on a site like this 50% of people will say yay and the other 50% nay - but none of us are responsible for your health so these are just opinions.Your Dr always knows what is best for you.

Milk After Lap Band Surgery ?
The mind boggles!
-
Pricey Protein Drinks....i Can't Afford To Keep Buying Them..help
Just eat normal food. That is what we do in Aus and the band still works for us. The only time I used protein shakes was the preop diet.

Milk After Lap Band Surgery ?
Why not have a glass of milk instead of a protein shake.

How Do I Deal With The Gas In My Core After Lap Band Surgery?
The gas is not inside your stomach/digestive system so things such as Gas X will have no effect. The gas is within the body cavity and lodges in all sorts of strange places - take the painkillers that your surgeon has prescribed - they are there to help you.

Ever Feel Like Your Lap Band Surgeon Said He Did Somethig, But You Feel He Didn't?
My surgeon explained before I had to do a trip that Fluid in your band does not expand whilst in the air. An empty band is more likely to give you problems. I have flown a number of times since being banded - long trips where I had to fly 12 - 13 hours and had no problems with my band whatsoever. If the worst does come to the worst and your band feels tight it will resolve as soon as you touch down. The safest thing to do is request a special diet e.g Soup. If it is a short flight you don't have to eat anything - just eat before you take off and stay hydrated whilst you are flying. If you are in the green zone you shouldn't get anything taken out. Sometimes it can be hard to get to the right spot again.
