    Hi Dee Dee, Even though your Ins may not require a PCP before ins approves this surgery you will need to be followed by someone so that proper documentation is provided to ins on you, and any health issues you may have related to Obesity such as High Blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid condition etc...I work for a PCP doctor and know ins inside and out I just had the Lap Band a week ago tuesday and my wait along with thousands of others was long too! Everyone is required to complete certain steps in order to get Ins Approval and than a Surgery date set, I hope this helps GOOD LUCK!!!!
