10/19/09 I?m Not Losing It
I too am having this issue, its so refreshing to know that I am "coughs" somewhat normal! I completely get the chewbacca thing, he is living in my shower drain! I am almost six months out and hoping that it will slow down soon. I have started taking biotin hoping it will help. Hard part is remembering to take it!

does it matter???????
Aww hun, I know, it is sooooo scarey! I still think that I am going to wake up and be my old weight, what a nightmare! Its good that you getting a personnal trainer, they will know more. Just dont let them try to bulk you up. Mine always did, instead of loosing I would gain muscle but not see a change on the scale! You wont let yourself gain it back, you are a different person now. You know what it takes, you have fought that dragon and slayed it! You are a winner, just keep telling yourself that! Chin up, Deanna

Loose skin help
My LB doc told me it can take up to a year for your skin to catch up with the weight loss. He also said that the movement from walking helps with sagging. I know that sagging skin is a big downer after loosing weight, but I do know that I am seeing my skin tighten a little. Hope this helps Deanna:rolleyes2:

does it matter???????
Hey girl, I am not sure if my answer will be the right one, but I would think that upping your intensity would burn the same calories. Did the read out say different? I have been thinking of getting one of those body buggs, which keeps up with that for you. Keep up the good work, you look amazing! Deanna

10/15/09 Are you a Pear? An Apple?
I wonder about those of us who are "boy" shaped? I lost my hips when I lost weight.....I dont have a belly anymore either. What I am saying is that my waist is only 4 inches smaller than my hips. The calculator says I am still at risk, weird! Just when I was feeling good about myself :-(

10/14/09 What Goes Around Comes Around
Hey girl, I think you look great! Honestly the jeans look to big! I think you need a smaller size in a lower rise. I put a pair of shorts that were like that, above my BB and I hated them! To think I used to hate low rise jeans! You are soooooo rocking the hair, looks great on you!

Salad, Bread and Meat...
I can eat salad in the early afternoon to evening. Cant have it at lunch. Some dry meats are a problem. I absolutely cannot eat cabbage! Tried it when I was released to eat "normal" food. MISTAKE! So I havent had it again for awhile. Last night I tried it again a different way, sauteed. Family favorite, nope cant do that either! Came right back up! So from now on I will stay away from it...back to you. Maybe you cant tolerate salad until later in the day? I have a Protein shake in the morning because of being tight. Then at lunch I try something like tuna. Then at dinner I am usually ok to have a salad with my meal. What are you putting in the salad? Maybe its something other than the lettuce? Hope you get it figured out, Deanna

Hernia in belly button?
I too had a umbilical hernia, I had tummy pains for years. Not knowing that was what it was until I had a mini tt. Then that area kept sticking out. Went back for a full tt and surgeon said, yep thats what it is. So when he went in to do muscle repair for full tt he fixed the hernia. He did not use mesh, for which I am glad because I have heard that not all mesh works, body rejects it. Anyway, I have had no more pain since it was repaired! It would be great if you could get a tt at the same time. Most plastic surgeons want you 20lbs to goal before they will do a tt. I was not that close when I had mine and now I am way under that and my tt still looks great! Hope that helps! Deanna

Scared to death...
Ya, I would be scared by that too! Try a couple of tricks a friend of my daughter does (she has lost 100lbs without the band), I also read these in a health book. One, drink a full glass of Water as soon as you wake up. This helps with metabolism. Take 2 tsps (i think) of apple cider vineagar before a meal. And lots and lots of water! Which we already know we are supposed to be doing. I am at a stand still on the scale and I am going to try to do these tricks to see what happens. Wont hurt Hope this helps, keep me posted! PM me if you just need to vent! Deanna

Scared to death...
myTurn, I am so sorry to hear this. How long do you have to wait? Did the doc think you could be refilled? Just try to stay strong, wouldnt you think that you actual stomach has shrunk. That being said, try to stay with the same portions if you can.....maybe it has shrunk enough that it will be satisfied? Well, I hope that you can get refilled soon. Keep us posted! Deanna

The scale keeps jumping and I'm getting a little frustrated!!
I have the same questions! I thought I was at my sweet spot, but I have gained and lost the same 2 to 3 pounds in the last month or so. I want to get this last bit off! So I can feel your frustration! Deanna

Stuck Sushi Situation
I too get stuck on seaweed in sushi. There is a restaurant here in Tampa that will do sushi in a rice paper. It is wonderful. I actually like it better because I can taste the fish and other ingredients better. I wonder if your restaurant has that available to you? It may be worth asking...... Good Luck Deanna

Bandster Hell SUCKS!
JenFenRen, it is very hard, but right now is not the time to worry about loosing weight. Get healed first, then worry about the weight. Protein is your friend right now. I know its so discouraging, but you can do it! My doc told me it takes at least 6 weeks to heal and until that time dont worry about the scale. Take heart, this too shall pass! Deanna

Loosening up after a fill
This is going to sound weird, but are you any where near that time of the month? Reason I ask is that my band gets tighter at that time and usually lasts the week after. So I was thinking that if you were close then maybe you could buy yourself 2 weeks more before you "Had" to get a fill. How long did you wait after your fill to unfill? My doc likes for me to wait at least 2 weeks. Did you do liquids after? One time didnt do my liquids and boy did I pay for it! Miserable for 2 weeks! But it did settle down. Hope this helps, Deanna

What I couldn't live without post-op
Great idea! I just used my moshie pillow, dont know if you know what those are. I got it from SharperImage. Like the Nap pillows, very soft and squishie. I take it with me when I travel, people look at me like I am crazy! But it sure helped with holding me in when I coughed! D

Will I Ever See the REAL ME??
I am so glad to see this thread! I too have struggled with this issue. When I got banded in April I was a size 16, now I am a 6. I wonder if it happened so fast that I mind hasnt caught up? I can stand in front of the mirror and see changes, but I nitpick everything I see. Sag here, a puch (sp) there, wrinkles overthere! Pictures are a whole other issue. I see me as I was not as I supposedly am. I think I will take the advice from above and go find pics and then take a current one so I can see the changes. Hopefully I can see the changes Deanna

Goal weight?
Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it. I am not saying that I wont try for 125, might as well. I feel so good at 149, how much better would it feel?!? I just felt like 135 was a little more realistic, but maybe not? I think I will just continue chugging along, I have just now started excersizing, that should help with sag. I know, I should have been doing it all along, but I didnt so better late than never. I love this website, there is so many people on here with great testimonies and suggestions! I dont think I could have made it this far without everyones help! Thanks again, Deanna
