  1. Hello All, I have not been on here in about 8 months and decided to get on here and see how people are doing, and I'm looking for some support. I am very happy to say that I have lost so much wait, but still have another 100 to go. I started my journey at a whopping 597 and am now down to 365. Yes, that is 232 lost. I am very happy but have found myself stuck for the last 4 months. I have not gained thankfully but I am seriously stuck and the weight won't move. I have tried to add different workouts and everything but nothing is working. I'm just looking for some ideas or things I can do to shake things up. I am do for a fill but I don't really think that is the problem. I know what I'm eating and I'm staying on track. I'm thinking that my body has just said enough for a while and hoping that things get going soon. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Hope everything is good with all of you.
  2. I haven't been on here in a long time. I started a post a while back about a support group but it really never went anywhere. This past Sunday has been 2 yrs since my surgery and I am happy to say I've lost 227 lbs. But I am always looking for people to share stories, experiences, struggles and accomplishments with. It's tough to just talk to your friends about it, because even though they can be very supportive, they just don't know what you're really going through. Anyone willing to exchange thoughts by email or even getting a group of people together and meeting up that would be great.
  3. This would be awesome, I was banded on 5-8-2009 and tried doing something like this last year, but didn't go to well. I would love to be part of a support group and share stories with some local people. Please contact me with any chances of getting a support group going. I was also thinking of trying to get a meeting set up where people can meet to have our own support group. Let me know what you think.
  4. That's awesome John keep it up!! John - 114 Donny-117
  5. everything annette said is pretty much right on. I love the Kane Center. My doctor is Dr. Kane and I had my surgery on 5-8-2009. They are very helpful with everything and very nice.
  6. I'm feeling a lot better thanks for asking, but it has happened a couple of other times. The problem is I'm stubborn and I love my bread. And it definately becomes a problem. So the bread is gone and I'm doing much better. If I really really want some bread I just toast it until its almost burned, lol, and it works.
  7. I actually had kind of the same situation happen to me. I had lost about 25 lbs from surgery date to first fill. My first fill was at the end of june of this year. Since then I have continually lost a lot of weight everytime I went back to see him. I wasn't able to eat as much as before surgery but still eating way more than I should have been eating. I was just making the right decisions and would load up on veggies after my protein. Well, I finally got my second fill on 9-30 after being down a total of 102lbs. So yes it's possible that he won't fill you if you're losing, but I had only lost 12 lbs the last month so he noticed a decline and decided to fill me. With your weight loss drastically dropping he will probably give you a fill next visit.
  8. Well, it finally happened. I got my second fill on tuesday morning and last night I thought I would be able to eat something solid. So I sat down for dinner with a piece of chicken breast and some steamed broccoli, and about 8 bites into my meal I started to feel horrible. I stopped eating and began to pace my basement. The next thing I new I was leaning over the sink in pain. This was all followed by a sliming episode and then a pbing episode. Don't know if it was just too early to have solids or if it was cause I ate too fast. I guess it's pretty good, 5 months in and it being my first episode, but either way I hope it never happens again.
  9. This is awesome. I have been busy and haven't been on for a while. Just got my second fill today and lost 15 more totalling 102. 10. This is awesome, I really hope we can get something going, it would be great. Weekdays are pretty open, anytime after 600 is good Weekends are good too, I would also prefer during the day. Hopefully we can all work something out, and yes thanks for organizing remodelingme.
  11. Love all the lady talk, but there is a man around. LOL.
  12. Yes, I posted something like this a few weeks back in a different forum and haven't received a reply. Teena, I am also from chicago and would love to do something like this. I was banded 5-8-2009. Hopefully we can find some more Chitown bandits and try to set something up.
  13. Just asking around to see if people are interested in having some kind of support group get together. They have these through my clinic and really don't like them too much. Just wondering if anyone knows of any around or is interested in trying to start one. I'm open to traveling a little if need be. I live near the Ohare area.
  14. Hey Carrie, I see you posted this about a month back, and no answer to your post. My surgeon is DR. Kane. He has offices in hoffman estates, elk grove village and I think another spot. He is awesome. You can look his office up on line. Kane Center. I had my surgery 5-8-2009 and everything has been awesome so far. His staff is really nice and even though it seems like they are so busy sometimes, they will call you back as soon as they can and are a tremendous help. Well hope you can find someone near by but definately look into the Kane Center.
