  1. I felt really bad after surgery too. So I do think that is normal for some of us. I had a lot of trouble with nausea and gas pain and just being so uncomfortable I felt like crying. It gets better, it just takes some time. Hang in there. Carlene
  2. I also have BCBS IL. I had the lapband surgery at the end of February, 2009. I started the insurance approval process in July, 2008. They required me to go through a 6 month medically supervised weight loss program prior to approving the surgery. However, other than that mandated kind of "waiting period" - I didn't have any trouble getting the approval. It has been good about paying all the related claims too.
  3. Good Afternoon! My surgery was 2/25. As of today (5/4), I am down 36.5 pounds. I also had trouble eating and drinking enough for awhile, but I am doing much better now. The last few weeks, I have been losing 1-1/2 to 2 pounds a week which I understand is about right. I am going in for a dr. visit on Wednesday 5/6 for a possible fill (that would be the first). I don't know if I'm ready for a fill or not yet. But perhaps, as I am certainly eating larger quantities and more types of foods now. However, I dread feeling all urpy and chest pain again. Eating was a real burden for awhile there but I guess that is the trade off. Carlene
  4. I was banded on 2/25 and had the referred pain from gas off and on for about a week. It sure does hurt. It does go away though, in time. I empathize. Carlene G.
  5. Hi Madison. I had lap-band surgery on Feb. 25th. I live in Buffalo Grove. I wonder how you are doing? I am doing fair. It was a bit rougher than I expected but I am back at work now for half-days. I still have a lot of left shoulder pain (from the gas, I guess). Since we live close to each other, and have had surgery within 2 days of each other, I wanted to send you a note. You can e-mail me at cjgriffith1@yahoo.com if you would like to talk further. Carlene
