  1. good luck on Monday! I'm right behind you! I will have my band placed on Wednesday! don't you hate it when people say you aren't 'fat enough?" You'll do great!
  2. I told my family that I was 'exploring the option' since all the testing and other requirements were necessary first before a final decision was made. I informed them of the process all the way thru it. I was initially upset with my mother, as she was not being very suppportive. I expected that she would be my BIGGEST supporter. It took me about 4 months to realize that she thought I wanted Gastric Bypass. Once we got that figured out we were good. I haven't told many outside of my immediate family and best friends/coworkers. I have found that many people have no idea what I'm talking about anyway! I was asked the other day "How's your stomach stapling thing going?" GEESH!!! I just replied, "I'm not doing that!" My surgery is scheduled for 4/15...4 days...until the beginning of my life!!
  3. Hi all! I just got my surgery date (April 15th) yesterday and am very excited. At times I have been really frustrated with 'how long things are taking' but then remind myself that I am in control of what I am doing every day...I can do my food journal, do my exercise, in the meantime and still be on course. I started this 'exploration' in March 08 with my first curious phone call. It's been an interesting 11 months, and it's all finally coming to fruition! I have to chime in that having only one surgeon in the state who does Lapband is a pretty big responsibility. As long as I am treated with respect and dignity, I will be ok! Thanks for all of the information that has been posted. It's very helpful to read different points of view. Kel
