I drink protein shakes, very slowly, after my fills. I was not, however, told by my physician to drink only clear liquids. Maybe your fill was more than I usually get.

I did not want the malabsorption that comes with the gastric bypass. When I get older I want to be able to absorb what I need (medications and such). There is a thread regarding The Gastric Sleeve surgery. This is not a malabsorption option as well. Good luck with your decision.

Your therapist is right. The band does not help with emotional eating. It does, however, slow you down a bit so that you can become more aware of what you are doing. It will allow you to become fuller faster and dim your appetite a bit. Good luck with your decision.

CALL YOUR SURGEON ASAP! All the advice you have been getting here is right on!

Were you told that you had to eat your food over an hour. I was told to measure out my food, eat it, and walk away. It is probably very hard to make mushies last for an hour. Maybe you should check with you doc and see if he/she really meant that. Good luck.

I just went on the website and found a link to a review. It states that they make them in chocolate as well. And yes, they can be used as coffee creamers.

Can you use these like coffee creamers or are they meant as a separate shot. Just curious....I am glad they are working for you.

"To each his own"......I have always liked the structure of WW but was always hungry. Now with my band, I am not hungry between meals. It is very easy to follow WW with the band. I give myself 20pts/week plus the extra 35 if needed. Some days I don't even get to 20 points, but that's OK. I really like the weekly weigh-in. It keeps me from jumping on the scale everyday. I could not do WW WITHOUT the help of the band. There is no difference between following points or counting calories....you can keep it high protein, low GI if you want. Just another way to keep track of calories.

I really like my band. It helps me with portion control, which is what I was looking for. Had TERRIBLE reflux prior to being banded but not anymore.
