I also had horrible pain when taking deep breaths, but mine went away after about 2days. Maybe because you had the hernia repair as well, it is taking a bit longer. I know I thought I would go back to work in 5 days and there is nooooo way. I had the Band on 1/14 and I still feel kind of crappy. I am not in pain or anything just weak and tired. If you can stand it I would say to get up and walk around as much as possible to pass all the gas that is stuck. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!
I was banded on the 14th and I also am having the same problems. I go from being sooooo hungry to being extremly nauseous. I really sucks, but I am hoping that it gets better. I am trying really hard on my protein drinks, but I am still only getting in about 30g when I am supposed to be getting 60g a day. But if I drink too much I get sick. I am also having problems with diarrhea and I think that is from just solely liquids. I go to the doctor tomorrow, I am hoping that I get advanced to mushies. Take care, and we will get through this!!
Hi all I was banded on Wednesday 1/13. I was sent home on Thursday but had to be readmitted on Friday due to nausea/dry heaving and dehydration. I came home yesterday. Ever since the surgery I have been having horrible reflux. I did have reflux before the surgery but it was well controlled with my medication. I am still taking the medication but I can feel the liquids coming back up into my throat. When it hits just below my sternum I get a a very sharp pain that last a few seconds then goes away. This happens several times an hour. Please tell me this will go away!! BTW the did do a upper gi and said that everything is going through the pouch just fine. I am only on liquids and protein shakes at this time. I am taking Nexium
Ok thought I would jump in and introduce myself. I am Amy from MO and I am having my surgery Dec 2nd!! I have been waiting so long for this, but now truthfully I am really FREAKIN out!!!!!! I think part of it is because I am a nurse, and I know tooooo much about the medical world. I am not nervous about the band, diet, exercise or any of that, it's the surgery that scares the bejesus out of me!!! Anyway hello everyone and good luck to all:eek:
I was kind of wondering the same thing. I am also a nurse, home health and don't really do any lifting. My surgery is on Dec 2nd(wednesday) and I am planning on going back to work Monday. Hope I can at least!! I am just going by what I felt after gallbladder surgery, and I could have went back the next day reallly. So I am hoping for the same with this.
