Tough Mudder!
Its def not for the faint at heart. Its not timed, so you have from when it starts to when it ends to finish. It was validating for me in a way. I've done the Warrior Dash too and TM is much more intense. Dont be intimidated! Even if you dont finish, you still have more guts than most people

Contact Sports?
I know/train w/ a few UFC and WEC fighters. They looked into it for me and asked around and no one had any info on fighters that have had any type of WLS. Thats why I was apprehensive about having it done, bc i didnt know the effect it would have on my training. Plus I think the other problem would be w/ UFC fighters is the weight classes. You have to maintain or get bounced. There are a few fighters that would get wrecked in a lower weight class. IDK about NFL players, but its not all that likely for pro fighters.

4 days post-op, really bad hunger pains
Ok guys, I need your help! I had my band placed on the 15th. I am experiencing wicked hunger pains, to the point that Im getting really nauseas and even light headed at times. Also, has anyone had problems w/ post op runs? . Im really batting 1,000 here. I have stepped up on my liquids and put a call into my doc. I can only imagine what bandster hell is like. Please help!

Any NJ folk on here
I am also from SOC! Had my band done by Dr. Reich on the 15th. Everything went great until my overnight stay and the nurses that couldnt get an IV on me. That was THE WORST after 3 nurses and 6 tries, they got a nurse from CCU to put a line in, it took awhile but she got it on the 1st shot. Over 2hrs w/ no fluids, no pain meds and no nausea meds is a DRAG. Other than that, Im all good

Did you name your band?
Harvey....Im not entirely sure why, but Harvey just popped into my head...

Contact Sports?
Hey Guys! Sorry to intrude on the manly posts but I have some answers for yall regarding the heavy stuff. I compete in both BJJ and MMA. My surgeon says that I'll be able to take direct shots to the port w/ just alittle discomfort after 4-6 weeks. Which is good b/c they're both a huge part of my life. For awhile I was going to cancel the surgery bc I was so worried about complications if I got hit. Now the only problem Im thinking about is dropping weight classes for competitions! Good luck guys!

How did you come up with your user name?
When i was a kid, I never wore shoes and would run around in the woods(and everywhere) barefoot lol. Someone said i was like the female version of Huckleberry Finn and it stuck.

January 15th Bansters??
My date is also on the 15th. I met w/ my surgeon today and he told me to start the pre-op diet on friday. Im excited/apprehensive/nervous, etc. My biggest thing is being able to deal w/ the weight loss since I have been large since childhood. IDK...Good luck to everyone next friday! Send me a PM if you have Facebook and want to track progresses together!

When is "serious" exercise permitted?
I do competitive Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I was told between 4-6wks I should be able to go back to full time live training w/ minimal discomfort. SUPER HAPPY!
