question about weight loss percentages
I've read people and results that have said you can only expect to loose 50-60 percent of excess weight with lap band. My question is why no 100 percent of excess weight? Is 100 percent of excess weight los not obtainable? How do people recommend going about loosing all of their excess weight? How long do you recommend exercising for daily? Thanks

Considering the Lap Band and Have a Question
Hey! I haven't been banded yet. I can tell you that as hard as given up drinking may be for you its totally worth it when it comes to your health. Alcohol has a ton of empty calories the importnat thing is that if you do get the surgery you do it for you.

Dating, geez, HELP.
I've always felt rejected from others because of my weight. I always feel. like people are judging me. I just try to be myself. I have often found that people you think are friends say things and either don't respond or follow thorugh. It's weird now that i've started to lose weight people are noticing. I've always felt rejected by others. I try to stay away from girls because even though I have a few friends. It makes me uncomfortable because i've gone through a lot with people in general. I understand how you feel. It's not fun feeling this way.

I got my surgery date!
thanks! every day is a day closer. I think it's weird that when they do my h &p on the 21st of may I have to be at my weight goal for surgery. I thought I wouldn't have to be until my surgery day on june 10th. Which means my weight we'll prob be even lower on june 10th. i've only got about 6 or 7 more pounds to loose before may 21st and i've lost about 12-20 pounds in less than a month by just eating right and exercising.

I got my surgery date!
My insurance was submitted for pre-approval. Today I recieved a call and my surgery is now scheduled for 6/10/09! So far in the preop process i've lost 25 pounds and I need to lose another 10 before my h & p on the 21st of may but it's great to finally have a date. Between my nutrition class and dr's visit there was a 12 day difference and in that 12 days i lost 10 pounds. Before I hated exercise and now when I don't do it for a day I feel awkward.

A Newbie To The Site
It all depends on your dr but before i can have the surgery i must get my bmi down to a certain level and show that I can nutionally be healthy I also have to use the treadmil daily. Lap Band reduces the size of your stomach that way you will not be able to eat as much. They do procedures after surgery called "fills" where they can add or take away saline to affect the restriction you have in the amount of food your stomach can hold

hi! i'm 24 from vermont! I understand where your coming from, but I believe that for best results the procedure is nessecary in order to dramatically lose weight. Losing weight will provide a better future for you. I mean certain things you may not be able to eat, but there a lot of things you will still be able to eat just with smaller portions.
