    Unbelievable!

I joined this forum because like everyone else here, I also have had the lap band surgery, to be more specific I had the Realize band placed on June 15th. I have now posted a few questions about things I have had concerns about yet, I still wait for anyone here to help me with any of my questions. I'm NOT asking questions that could not be answered, just general questions. My whole life I have been overweight and faced ridicule face to face, I really thought in this medium and given the fact that everyone else who is in this forum faces the same challenges would be a little more helpful and friendly. To be honest I feel like I have the plague. So on that note, I will leave this forum because obviously even on here there's cliques and if one is not a part of the clique then they are an outcast!:cursing:

    First fill

I had my first fill yesterday afternoon. What are the indictions that the fill is right? In other words, not too much and not too little. Right now I'm feeling hungry, however that could be because I am doing 2 days liquid, 2 days puree, then back to soft foods.

    What should I bring?

Before my surgery I had to meet with the coordinator of the Weight loss team. She gave me a binder with very useful information. One of the pages was a list of things to bring with you to the hospital compiled by other patients. 1. A positive attitude after all you are making a life change for the better. 2. A small pilloiw to hold against your tummy when you cough. 3. Brush/Comb 4. Camera 5. Deodorant 6. Diet Instructions 7. Lip Balm 8. Loose clothes to wear home (very important) 9. Lotion 10. New book or magazine 11. Robe (optional) 12. Slippers 13. Toothbrush/Toothpaste 14. Your own pillow to sleep with

    Wow

I was just checking to see if I had posted anything, and back in February was my first post just talking about going to a seminar for the lap band surgery. So much has happened since then. On June 15, 2009 I was banded. I have already lost 20% of my excess body weight, my BMI has gone from 45 down to 40. I'm just so amazed at the energy level I have now. Yesterday I went for my first fill. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. All my doctors and caregivers revolving around this surgery have been wonderful! My friends and family have been more than supportive I really couldn't ask for more. I am so glad I made this decision to change my life. All I want is a healthy lifestyle and to be able to play with my children. :scared2:

    Newbie

Hi everyone, I just signed up to this site. I've found this site to be very informative. I am thinking about having the lap band surgery. I am going to my first seminar in a couple weeks from now. I do have a question though. After the surgery are there any side effects such as losing your hair? I know of a couple people who have had the gastric bypass and they have lost quite a bit of their hair due to not getting enough protien.
