  1. Ok I am thrilled with the lapband so far I have lost 43 pounds, but just lately my hair is coming out in big chunks when I comb after a shower or even when when shampooing. I know this is probably a vitamin I am missing, but which one?? Please help.:Banane56:
  2. This thread is soo good. I have many many shameful moments, but have you noticed there is a common theme to almost all of the stories? People have not learned to not say anything at all if you don't have something nice to say. Weren't we all taught that in like kindergarten? Anyhow, my very last that is it straw that broke the camel's back moment: I am just recently remarried to a wonderful, loving and supportive man. Bless his heart he is gorgeous and married me at 260++. Anyhow, we were out having a couple of drinks with some " friends" and one of the ladies kept going on and on about how sweet he is and cute etc. THEN started to tell me just how lucky I am that I got him to marry me. THEN told me how I better do whatever I could to hold on to him because I am sooo lucky. ( She is like super tiny by the way ) I haven't always been fat, and until that moment I hadn't realized how some people just presume that you are dull or stupid or somehow not worthy because you are fat. I couldn't get it out of my head. I was so embarrassed to think that people were like oh that poor guy. I decided HEY he should feel lucky to have me ( and of course he does ) and I wasn't going to give anyone a reason to judge him. Until then I didn't realize how my self loathing affected not only me, but the people I love around me. It gave me strength and resolve and courage. Now I have just bought I size 16 jeans for the first time in YEARS and I feel great. A therapist may not agree that this was the best motivator, but somehow it worked and now that person that I was so angry with is someone I give thanks to. I realized I was only really angry with myself. My marriage is awesome and we are now getting healthier together.
  3. wow- weighed myself and I have lost 40#! Hooray!I just went on vacation with my kids and although I didn't lose that week- I didn't gain any either. I had my surgery April 11th in Houston,TX.
  4. I am having trouble with my vitamins. I have a liquid multi and a liquid B from GNC and they seem to shall I say- move through my system quickly.:speechles I had the clerk help me, but I think she thought I had bi-pass surgery. Does anyone have this problem? Can you recommend and alternate brand or dosage for bandsters?

Where did I go? Who am I now?

Wow. You are all so inspirational. I wish I could figure out just why I chose to be so fat. After all, it is a choice we make right? Even though we don't like to admit it. I feel like if I could figure out why I needed this wall around me, it would make to trip to thinsville so much easier.
  6. Totally lost weight. Haven't had my first fill yet. The first week was harder mentally for me. I wanted to eat because I was like almost afraid not to, but I sure wasn't hungry and if I pushed it too hard- ick- I felt yucky. My husband and I were staying in a motel so he was ordering room service- I actually licked the sauce off one of his buffalo wings they smelled so good. Wanted to eat it because it was there- not cause I needed it. It will take some time to train myself to eat for fuel, not for fun.

    Soda's ???????????????!!!!!!!

Before my surgery I didn't think soda was something I would EVER be able to give up. Now, I haven't had not even one since my band and I do not even miss it. I was told by my doctor that the carbonation can expand the stomach pouch- why would I want to do that after all if this?
  8. How scary. I didn't know this was such a common problem. I hope you are feeling better soon!
  9. HI! I am an April 11th bandster! Please add me to list!
  10. Hello. I had my surgery on 4/11/06. I have not had my first fill yet ( next week ) and I have lost 28 pounds. I have some questions: What is a PB and sliming? Will I be back on liqids after my fill? What do you do for medications like Advil for cramps (PMS)? Loving the band. I had hardly much pain after surgery and it has already changed my life. Thank you.

How do you see when someone replies to your posting while you are reading other areas on LBT?

Thank you. I have never been on a forum like this before. I travel a lot and therefore it is difficult for me to attend support groups. I am hoping I can get some support through sites like this. So far I have learned a ton.

How Long Does The Sliming Last????

I am new to this sight and to the band. I was banded on April11th of this year. I have not had a fill yet ( next week ) and I have already lost 28 pounds. I am confused reading these threads- what is a PB and sliming? Have I just been lucky or will this happen after I have a fill?
