  4. hi, i just found out last week about the diet requirements..........i have had all the other testing, everything fine....then i gain 10 pounds over the 6 months now i might have to wait 3 more months until i lose, so upset, no one told me i had to lose weight before surgery......heck that is why i am having the surgery!!!!! it is all insurance, not the doctor. gosh i hated insurance company's they make everything so darn complicated. anyway was hoping for surgery in april, looks like june now! what insurance does everyone have...........i have highmark security blue. thanks and good luck

  6. hi everyone, ok i am in big trouble..........been going to pcp doctor every month for 6 months now. (have done all the other testing). i gained 10 pound in the last 6 months due to just not watching, no one told me i had to lose weight. ( i changed doctors after my 5th month due to no one getting back to me on difference things). duh should have known!! oh doctors name dr colella (pittsburgh)...there office was awful. now going to dr ramanathan (much better with info). new doctors just informed me on weight loss, now i might have to go another 3 months before surgery. big chance of being turned down. i am so upset. has anyone else had this problem? any advice would be great! thanks

  10. hi, first off i live in robinson township (NEAR IKEA). i am going to dr ramanthan , from mckee. i am scheduled for surgery (hopefully in end of april). i have gone thru many tests, they will give you all to do, and yes from sleep study to stress test, so insurance will pay and since it is a elective surgery they put you thru many tests. i am so excited, i need to lose 90 pounds, so i just make it, i have highmark security blue. they should pay for 100% of surgery. will keep everyone posted. (also leslie i sent you a private message, since you went to dr ramanathan) good luck everyone! sandi

  14. hi everyone, well i am hoping to have the surgery in the next 6 week or so, but i did run into a problem and was wondering if anyone else has had this. when going for all my testing they found out i have copd (breathing problems). i have to go for 1 more breathing test and if ok...........i can have surgery. all other testing came back fine. anyone else with this problem and did you get surgery? one more thing i am 61 so on the edge of being older, never had a weight issue until about 6 years ago. anyone else in this age group and how did it go? thanks everyone!
