hi everyone, i posted yesterday and today about restriction and tightness. well, just got back from doctors and had to be unfilled completely..........only had 1 fill. why you ask....i had a spinach salad wednesday for lunch...after lunch i felt fine. went to eat dinner, could keep anyhing down not even liquids, this happen till today. well i actually had a piece of spinach stuck in my pouch and it looked like it had made its on pouch, hence why nothing would go down. doctor said only second time he has seen something like that. first time was a woman shallowed a whole grape and it got suck. anyway i am now completely unfilled for 1 month. bummer! oh yea, he said he carefully for a day or two, and back to normal food....but of course no spinach or lettuce!!! sandi

hi can fill kick in after 2 weeks? i think that is what is happening to me. can barely keep liquids down. going to doctor today for another fill, thought first one did not work. thanks

thanks for reply........i had some eggs this morning again pbing about 5 times...........will not eat anything for awhile, have doctors appoint tomorrow.

food that gets stuck in your band, comes back up.....make any sense i think i expain it ok.

hi all, ok had my 1st fill june 5, and nothing could eat anything and not be bother. well, yesterday i went to lunch and had a salad - all was fine after i ate no problem at all (i do sometimes eat fast). last night went to have dinner a piece of chicken - and i got to the second bit and started to pbing, like it was awful, but the biggest thing is i was pbing my lunch. normal??? i pbed about 8 times in a row(never done that)! anyway just kept sipping Water was ok, went to bed. this mornng had to take my pills my big one fills like it is stuck!!! oh no. can drink and it is going down. finally question: could my fill be kicking in this late???? or am i just good and stuck??? i also go to doctors tomorrow for a fill, since first one did not work. thanks guys.

hi, trust me you are not alone. i wish i would have kept my big mouth shut. but no i told everyone!! my biggest problem is another friend has gastric -by-pass a week after my lapband and of course losing big time weight, so everyone thinks i should be like her ugh!!! anyway when i do get to my weight, maybe then they will stop asking! lol good luck

hi everyone, i also have ibs.............years ago i would go between constipation and diarrhea...........but the last 10 years it has been all diarrhea, there is not a day goes bye that i do not go anywhere from 5 to 10 times daily. (SHOULD BE SKINNY LOL). i was banded april 20th and have seen very little difference in my diarrhea, if anything it has gotten a little better, but not much. my doctors tell me i am one of the worse cases they have ever seen. i always thought it was things i ate, but now that i eat very little it is still there........... anyway good luck everyone.

has my first fill friday june 5 1.5 cc's.............as of today i have no restriction......was hoping for some, but i can eat anything and if i let myself a lot of it! hopefully you will do better.....i am to call the doctor friday if i have no restriction. i know on this site some people take a few days. i keep hoping it will kick in. i am very bummed out. good luck to you!

hi, i feel you pain. i have only lost 12 pounds.....had surgery april 20th.....1st fill was friday june 5, yesterday i ate 2 pieces of pizza (big pieces- i could have more easily), so as you can see no restriction at all. i am so disgusted with myself and i don't know. trying to stay on diet, but had surgery to help me where i had failed before. i have actually gained 4 pounds in the last month. the doctor said to call friday if i can still eat so much...i am hoping they can take me and give me another fill. good luck..i guess we need it!

i was banded april 20th, i have one eposide of pbing and that was because i ate to fast. it is very different than vomiting, so i would not worry. good luck.

hi, i have done the samething.........i go for my first fill tomorrow. i have been eating everything for a least 3 weeks, a lot less but never less everything. i watch my calories, and quit when i am starting to get full. i am trying---can not wait till fill----hope i do better. good luck

wow that is a hard one!! i would think that it would the doctors fault if he did not wait for approval. i know my doctor would not do anything until the approval came thru ( actually 2 days). i know that is not any advice, but i sure would fight it! good luck

hello, boy can i relate..had my surgery april 20th, do not get my first fill till june 5. i hope it helps, because i just keep gaining instead of losing (actually i keep gaining and losing the same 4 pounds). i have no restriction at all, but i do try to stay with in the diet (protein first etc) i been counting calories and usually only take in 800 to 1200. i have lost a total of 12 pounds in 6 weeks. i have been on solids for 3. i hope this works, cause nothing else has! good luck on your journey!

hi, i also used lovenox for 14 days after surgery. 2 per day....i think lots of doctors do this. no need to worry, it goes quickly and they really do not hurt. the showed me how to inject myself in the hostipal. sandi

hi, i am 5 week out also. i also have one incision that still itches like crazy, (especially at night). I do put benadryl cram on and it helps. doctor also told me that i was healing nice and had a reaction to the tape. good luck...i think nothing to worry about.

wow do not feel bad, i had gained after my surgery, but my doctor said, don't worry it will happen......... of course i feel like you (see post above), but like everyone on here all i can do is try! good luck it is a journey and it seems a very long one for us!

How i agree with you cleo. I also have been in every size.weighing from 115 to 230 and i never saw a size 2 maybe a 8, but nothing smaller and i am 5 5. On ka they say tv adds 10 pounds i think in her case, maybe a little more. But hey i give her credit for coming forward. Battling the weight is so diffcult. Only people who have been there can understand, believe me i am one. I used to weight 125 after 2 kids, wore a bikini till age 50.....then some medical problems and personal problems i gained a 100 pounds. I used to look at people who were fat and say how did they get there. Well i found out! So i do not judge anyone thin, fat, and all in between!

hi, i feel your pain. i had my surgery april 20th...on liquids for a week before surgery lost only 5 pounds. came home after surgery and gained 9 pounds. i was ready to hang myself:crying:. then i lost all that in about a week. (lost 14 pounds totaL) then gained 4 back and this week gained 2. i do not go for a fill till june 5th. my willpower is pretty good but fading fast. i have been counting calories (about 800 to 1000). i hope i am not going to regret this. i have told everyone, cause i have a big mouth. lol so everyone is expecting big things.....and i am not coming thru! i have done jenny craig and weight watchers actually did better on them than this. oh what to do! good luck! yes i am exercising eating my Protein and drinking my water!

hi, i was banded april 20th...........i have not lost much weight either. actually i gained 4 pound last week. i feel my portions are small, but maybe not. i can eat alot (but smaller than before surgery). i do not go for my first fill till june 5. example: went to picnic on sunday had some chicken dip and chips (bad i know) then for dinner had a piece of chicken, about a 1/2 cup brocoli, 1/4 cup potato salad. that was all with in a hour, so as you can see that is alot. when people on this site say they eat a cup of food all day it is very hard to imagine since i can eat so much. trust me when i tell you it has been a real struggle every day. i do not pb or anything like that, so maybe you are eating to much or to fast. good luck to you, i just wanted you to know that you are not the only one out there struggling.

Hi, my surgery was april 20, and i am still tried especially if i do alot in one day. i thought it was my age, but then i remember we were put to sleep, and it takes quite a few months for that to leave you system. so i do think it is normal for alot of people! it does get better everyday!
