  1. He'll fizzle out alright and then when things go to hell in a hambasket I will be here to remind everyone, I promise you.
  2. Well, I have been at 214 for 4 days so I think I can officially say I'm at 214. Still haven't passed no kidney stones though. My daughter brought my granddaughter over yesterday morning and said here, I think I'm getting the flu, I don't feel good so I'm praying it doesn't try to pass until I can take her home. I'll have her a few days so I'm a nervous wreck I'll get down again. Well, maybe not. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and having fun with they're families. I want to wish everyone an early Verry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love all of you,
  3. Man, I tell you what. I wished this thread would just fizzle out. I definitely have learned one thing that some people have WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW
  4. Yes it's normal, it took me 3 fills to get good restriction and now I have trouble getting in enough protein and solids. It will happen it time.
  5. I used his partner Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez. Dr. Zapate just joined in with him in the summer. Very knowledgable and sweet man.
  6. Before you make up your mind for sure why don't you give Dr. Curry a call. He's in Cincinatti at the Deaconess Hospital and he's done sooo many of these and is fabulous. His web site is www.thebanddoctor.com
  7. Yep, it sure does. I had a slight unfill 2 weeks ago and now wished I had of left it alone. Fills are expensive for one thing and now I had all that money wasted and I can eat more than I'd like. I guess it's a learn kind of thing.
  8. I'm your person, lol. I had anthem bc/bs but they wanted me to jump through hoops to get them to pay so I went to Monterrey Mexico. It was 8500.00 for everything including your stay and free fills for life. The hospital was bigger and better than any I've ever stayed in here in the states. The treatment we received was top 5 star. I would do it over in a heartbeat and I've sent 4 dear friends who had their surgery Oct. 31 and 3 other people I didn't know. My surgeon had done over 7000 of these. He was tragically killed 2 weeks ago but his associate is still doing them and he's top notch as well. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me, I'd be more than happy to help you. My weight loss has stalled a little this month as I've been in the hospital twice in a month for kidney stones but I've still lost about 60 pounds in 5 months. I love my band and have had absolutely no problems at all.
  9. Band 100 times over. I have been out around 16000 including my fills and I would do it over in a heartbeat. I do not want the complications of the bypass.
  10. I would say so and if your worried just puree it in the blender or processor for a few seconds and you'll be good to go.
  11. Welcome and good luck, I have Anthem BC/BS but it's of Kentucky and they wouldn't cover me but I didn't appeal either though so I'm sure they will just stay on them. I just didn't want to wait so I self paid. I'm not a patient person. Good luck and you'll be so pleased with you band.
  12. I agree with Jack. I think it would be the best time of year because what a wonderful Christmas present, a new lease on life. Plus, you won't want any of those foods and there's 10 more pounds you won't have to loose. Good luck everyone that's getting ready for surgery, you'll do just wonderful.
  13. You cracked me up. I can just see you slowly lifting the covers. Hope he or she's doing better. I know what you mean about junk food going down better. Before I got my unfill that's the only thing that would go down. Weird, chips, dip, cookies, cakes go down fine but something healthy like chicken or steak, no way. Go figure.
  14. Do you get stuck and pb any? I would think your fine. I would say you need more fill is what it sounds like too me. I usually can eat 1/2 cup or a little more and then usually I'll start hiccuping and know I'm done. My doctor leaves it up to me as far as when I need fills I can get them every two weeks and he usually asks me how much I want. Keep us informed on how your doing and good luck. Wish I could be of more help.
  15. Hi and good luck with what ever you decide. I know I'm very happy with my band and think you would be too. Just do lots of research and feel free to ask lots of questions, we all did before we were banded. Good luck.
  16. We are all here in this together. Some of us banded longer than others and everyone is always happy to help with any questions you might have. Please feel free to pm me with any questions you might have. I would be more than happy to answer them.
  17. Yes. I also did creamed potatoes and watered them down with milk. You can also do puddings this way and gravies and oats and grits and stuff like that.
  18. Wow, I'm go and obviously not with it. I had no clue.
  19. You'll do great. It really isn't as hard as you think. You'll be so excited about your new life that I don't think food will be as important as you think. It wasn't for me and I use to love to eat and now I eat just to survive. I really don't care for food like I did at all.
  20. I agree too. Every surgeon is different. I didn't have to have any preop.
  21. I agree. I went through that and eventually after a month had a slight unfill and glad I did. My doctor said that that was a good way to have your band erode into your stomach by being just a tad too tight. Be careful.
  22. Me either, popcorn does just fine and is such a great treat.
  23. Try something like hot tea, that helped me a lot. It sounds like gas. Also, make sure you sip and not gulp, that too may help and walk.
  24. I agree 100 percent. I could have swore this was a lapband forum. Oh well. Before Bush my husband and I had to live on 60,000 a year and with two kids. Since Republican's have had office our income has doubled and stayed that way. So, no, I wouldn't vote Democratic even if the cows came home. So bash away bash away all you like. I'm Republican and proud of it. End of story as far as I'm concerned.
  25. I'd say mine was a 2. Didn't need anything for pain. Good luck and hope your feeling better soon.
