I am lucky I guess. I have been working with my Dr. for losing weight for a long time. I finally said F-IT and went to see the WLS Dr. Mid Sept because I was fed up! I had all my appointments done within two weeks. I had to wait 2 more weeks (about) for my Insurance to say okay. So I only had one month from deciding I wanted this surgery to Approval. I think that is one reason I am a bit freaked out. I had done my 6 months of dieting before I even thought about WLS. they are saying that the surgery is about 3 weeks out.

I got APPROVED! Guess I really am that Fat..lol! Waiting on a date....excited and scared to death all at the same time!

I don't think I will be able to stay off the scale once I have the surgery!

SAME HERE!! That was a real eye opener for me too. I think I also don't see my weight when I look !in the mirror. Believe me I KNOW I am overweight but I don't think I have allowed myself to see the true reflection staring back at me. I know in a year from now when I see a picture of how I am now I will be like "holy Sh*T I didn't realize I was THAT big

Welcome to the " Holy crap WHAT IF club" I am the current President LOL! All those things you mentioned have gone through my mind too. I am waiting on approval too. I, like you, wonder what my body will be in a year!

My Dr. sent my paper work over a week ago. I called BCN and they had still not gotten it and it was not even in their system. I call my Dr. and she called them and found out they are having a hard time inputting everything in their NEW computer system. Anyway, I hope they will give me a answer this coming up week. If you have BCN you may want to check on your status.

Like others, I have been told I would be so pretty if I just lost weight and one man I knew said " What is the matter with you?? Why would someone so beautiful, let themselves get so overweight". Yeah, I won't miss that. It is as if people feel they have the right to point out your weight flaws!

I too would be LIVID! Call your surgeon....see what they say. I would think that your loss would be more so early on.

My PCP faxed my surgeon's office and said I did not need a Stress test so everything is now at the Ins. company and I am waiting. Having shoulder surgery tomorrow so I will be drugged up for the next few days.....THAT will help me not obsess "did I get approved...did I get approved.....over and over again!" But like I posted above, I am now getting scared. It will be worth it RIGHT? Geeze, if it was not 8:47 Am, I would be pour myself a glass of wine just to calm my fat A** down!

Did all you guys have to have a stress test?? My Dr. just said that they want one before surgery...

I feel the same way!! I think..wowo, I will get to throw all my FAT clothes away! And, now I can't bust on myself with fat jokes. I won't have my " if I wasn't so Fat" thoughts! I can't wait for those days!!
