1. I had my 2nd fill about 4 weeks ago and was very disappointed for the 2 weeks following that I still didn't have any restriction, but then all of a sudden I can not eat hardly anything and my weight is coming off! So it must happen this way for some of us? Anyhow, I'm glad I have finally got restriction (though it feels more like being stuck), whatever, as long as I am losing!!
2. I'm the same. Was banded mid Feb, 1st fill of 5ml (in a 9ml) band, 6 weeks post op, no restriction. 2nd fill of 2ml a couple of weeks ago, still nothing. Maybe it's normal for some of us?
3. Thankyou for your reply, just knowing that I am 'normal' makes me feel so much better!
4. I too am not losing. First 2 weeks I dropped 5kg, then the feeling of restriction went and although I am trying to be careful and follow the diet, I am able to eat whatever I want. I am only 4 weeks out from surgery but the last 2 weeks I've lost nothing. 1st fill next week, so I sure hope to achieve the restriction again and hopefully start to lose again. Very frustrating, I understand how you feel. Even my family think it's a joke!
5. Thankyou for being so welcoming everyone. Day 5 PO today and I have already lost 2kg! (4.4lbs) Forgive me, I'm an Aussie!
6. Thankyou for sharing your story! I was banded 4 days ago and am soooo excited about finally achieving my 'ideal' healthy weight. I am 48 and decided I didn't want to hit 50 fat and frumpy! I am 5'7" and was 214lbs on operation day (last Friday). My goal is 140lbs, so our ages and stats are similar. You have given me the boost I regulary need to say "come on new life, I love you"!!!
7. Well done, I have just been banded (4 days ago) and am so excited for the future. I think you having amazing perseverence, if I had to do all you had to do BEFORE being banded, I'm not sure I woud of been able to. Go girl!
8. Hi Abby, I'm a newby, banded last Friday, Black Friday!!! I have immediate restriction although no fill was put in. I love it, no appetite and a constant feeling like I've eaten a 10 course meal, so do not want anything!!! I can sip water and of course do. I am on the fluid stage for the 1st 2 weeks and I must say it would be very easy not to have anything but water but I can sip down small protein shakes and juice when I need to. I do expect that this restriction level will lessen as I heal??? But as I so much want to succeed at this, I have to say I am very happy!!!
9. Hi all, I am 4 days out from having my lapband op and soooo excited to be on the way to the new me!!! :rose: I am 48, been overweight since 3rd child 10 years ago. Breast cancer treatment 4 years ago put me into menopause and that only added to the problem! Anyhow, after much research and lurking around sites like this, I did it. I have restriction from day 1 and have no fill in yet, is this normal? I am happy about it because I have no appetite and feel like I've over eaten badly!!! I live in Western Australia and breed Welsh Mountain Ponies. My operation was on Black Friday!!!! To me it will always be a 'lucky' day! I would love to find someone with similar stats to me to buddy up with? Anywhere in the world is great. I'm 5'7", starting weight 214lbs, goal 140lbs
