  1. I am 4months out and I asked the PA at my last appt why I was still getting this. She said either I am eating too much or it is from the foods Io am eating. Maybe measure your food and see if that helps.
  2. I was banded 1/28 and had my 2nd fill 4/7. I now have 6cc's in a 10cc band. I think I am at my "sweet spot". I too have thrown up a lot since this one. I can no longer eat lunch meat. You need to go back and read your post tho. You lost 8,7,and 11 pounds between fills. You need to be proud of that. Keep up the good work!!
  3. It is a big decision you made. I am about 2 months banded and love it. I never was worried about the surgery itself. I think the Dr had me at ease right from the start. I was more nervous about missing work and not being able to do a lot of lifting with my two kids. You have some discomfort after but it is a small price to pay to have a much healthier you. Take care and let me know when u have a date.
  4. I was only allowed to have water, popsicles, and juice. Congrats on getting banded!!
  5. I have had one fill and have hunger, not to the extent you describe. I have heard a lot of people say its fill#3-#5 b4 it seems to be operating 100%. Remember its a tool and it may take some time. Are you doing protien shakes? I find if I keep my daily protien at 80mg it helps fight the hunger A LOT. Hang in there!!
  6. One week was what I was told, mine was laparoscopic.
  7. You are about where I was. Once I started back on soft foods then regular foodsit levels out. I then only lost 3 lbs from the 2 week mark to the first fill. I don't think that I have restriction yet. Maybe after fill #2 on 4/7. You are doing great but PLEASE don't feel dissapointed when it slows down. Keep up the good work!!
  8. I had my fist fill on 3/10. I didn't tghink it hurt. They numb it first. You will do beautifully!
  9. Hi Chantal! My name is Becca. I have BCBS of Michigan. I had met all of their requirements and it was about 3 weeks before I heard back. I only had one co-morbidity. I have a 4 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. I went to the seminar on 9/15 and had my surgey 1/28, so just over 4 months from start to finish. I'm so happy I did it! Keep me posted on where things are. Good luck to you!!
  10. I was banded 1/28 and have lost 22lbs. It is normal toi plateau b4 your first fill, it is up to you to do what's right, the band isn't working yet. I had surgery and they put 2cc's in and had by 1st fill 3/10. I don't feel like I have much restriction yet. I've heard that it takes 3-4 fills b4 it really gets started. Keep up the hard work everyone!!
  11. Three days post op all I was allowed by my doctor was clear liquids. Did most of you get to have more than that? I wasn't allowed protien shakes until one week. I didn't have any issues with nausea or vomiting. I now wonder if that is why my dr's orders seemed stricter than some of the others I read here. Definately seek medical attn, don't wait. Keep us posted.
  12. Good luck on Wednesday!! I will be 7 weeks post op Thursday. I have lost 22 lbs and am elated that I made this choice. I wasn't nervous leading up to my surgery, when its right...its right.
  13. Yeah I agree you need to talk to the Dr. I did have a diarrhea probably the first week. I believe that its b/c of the liquid diet. You should be regular by now, plus I don't get why you are throwing up so much. Keep us posted.
  14. I am very thankful that you are ok and that you shared your story. I go for my first fill tomorrow and this is a good "reality check" for me just before. Thank you!!
  15. How exciting! I am 5 weeks post op (as of last Thursday) I am excited b/c this Wednesday I go for my first fill. This a wonderful adventure you are starting, good luck!!
  16. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and am 5 weeks post op. I too think you should go ahead with it. Is there a friend, family or neighbor that could help while your husband is at work. I wasn't suppose to lift for 2 weeks. I think you should do what you can to do it now. Becca
  17. Thanks for sharing your story. I wish for your continued success. I am about 5 weeks post op and hope to have be able to tell a similar story next January. Congrats girl!!
  18. 10 days for me!! You should start to notice it ease off soon!!! Hang in there.
  19. Thank you for your inspiration to us at the beginning of our journey! Congrats!!
  20. Is the pain in your neck/shoulder, most likely on your left side? I had pain like that for about 10 days post op.
  21. Iwas banded on 1/28/10. I have my first fill on 3/10. Looking forward to progressing. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow and am down about 19 lbs. Very happy about my decision. Thanks for the info on the "lack" of pain with the fills, wasn't sure what to expect. Keep up the good work everyone.
  22. Kalkaska, MI just banded 1/28/10. Going well so for looking for other michigan bandsters!
  23. I had surgery on a Thursday and also went back on Monday. It is a matter of just being tired in my case as well.
