  1. Hello KatsenD, Just wanted to say hello. Have you lost anymore weight? I haven't!!! I think I've even gain 2 lbs. I'm hungry most of the time wish I could get a refill but that's not until around the 1st of July.
  2. David, Did you have an xray first or you did it without the xray.
  3. I arrived in Monterrey on Sunday nite May 17th 2009 about 6:30p. Meet with Alma and nobody nobody could have been as nervous as I was. While in the meeting with Alma, Dr Zapata called me & was the most well spoke man I've ever spoken too, very very kind. My husband went with me we went to eat later that nite. I just pick I was still way to nervous to even eat. We went back to the hotel and he slept and I walk the floors. Santos pick us up at 5:45a.m. By then I was throwing up and I know it was just nervous. Got to the hospital everyone was so kind but I was scared to death I thought my heart was going to jump out. While the little nurse name Erika was pep me my Anesthesiologist Dr. Eduardo Ahumda-Garza came in and ask me what was wrong by this time I'm also crying. He was the sweetest thing. He held my hand and was just so sweet. I told him that thier was 2 things in life that I'm afraid of and that was snakes & needles. I know big chicken. Dr Ahumda said is that all, he told me that they would ONLY stick me one time to draw blood, IV & everything. I told him I had rolling veins and I didn't think so. But Erika did first try and never was stuck again. By then Dr Zapata was at other side of my bedside and he was sweet sweet too. He was telling me everything was going to be alright was just so kind. Believe me they won't have done that in the good ole USA. I got though surgery and it went well. My husband couldn't believe I had done it. My surgery was at 7a. and was in a room at 8:30 by 9 I was walking. THe shoulder pain was terrible but I got thought it in about 8 hrs. The nurses was very kind too. Never rang for the nurses station not once they came in to check on you. Our nurses here in the USA would have come to the door and looked at you like "you know you just had surgery and WHAT". Not in Monterrey you are treated like you are someone special. By 4p I was doing really really good walking, laughing just was good. I had a nurse by the name of Carla or Kayla I could have brought her home with me. She was the best nurse of all the nurses. All the monterrey nurses was sweet but she stood way way out there. I hated to see her go. She made that extra step for me or I felt like it was for me. The next morning I was walking in the hall about 6a and ran into Dr Zapata and he walked me back to my room and told me that he was come get me between surgeries for my x ray. Dr Zapata did and come got me and stayed with me though x rays and even walk me back to my room. We all said our goodbyes. Santos came got me around 12:30 and took us back to the hotel. I rested for awhile and then went to the mall. I meet Alma at 7p for last one check on me. If I have anything done to me as far as surgery I hope that I have it done in Monterrey.

  5. Goodness, I was too banded 2 weeks ago and I lost 12 lbs in one week and after 16 days I weigh had gain 5 of them back. That's terrible and I'm also so so hungry I think it's the mushie foods the mash potatoes lord I love them and had some quiznos broccoli & cheese soup and added water to that. I've been walking too but to gain back 5 lbs is terrible.

  7. sounds delicious. I'm trying it!!!
  8. Hi KastenD, Yeah I had my band on the 18th of May in Monterrey,MX. I lost 12 lbs since the 18th. Dr Zapata is the great is the most wonderful dr in the world never have been treated so kind. I got back to McAllen,TX on the 20th and was in a wedding the 23rd. We left MS in our moterhome on the 15th and only took my husband bike cuz I knew that I wouldn't be able to drive mind. But I rode with my husband on his bike that thursday which was the 21st. My Dr told me he didn't really want me to drive my bike since my bike is heavy for 6 weeks so eveything can heal inside. I ride a Harley softtail. I hate that too cuz I'm not use to being bitch. ha I've been riding about 38 yrs. I'm glad it over and would do it again and I don't want to do anything to damage my band. I'm really really doing good my port is a little sore but other than that I'm good no pain. Hope you have a good day and ride safe
  9. How are you doing. I see you had surgery the same day I did. My surgery went very well but that shoulder pain was the pain from hell. Several people had told me about the shoulder pain but I guess I wasn't listening. My dr and nurses in Monterrey,MX was just the greatest in the world. Hope to fine you doing well and loseing alot of weight. I've only lost 10 pound and proud of that. Best of luck to ya
  10. I did IT!!! May 18th was my surgery day and lost 10 since the day of my surgery. But I'm proud of that, that's 10 I did have. I need to walking more I think but I'm doing really good. I'm glad it is over and maybe I'll be a skinny girl in a few months. Good Luck too all.

I walk so much monday after the surgery I think my feet, ankles and legs was sore. I've lost 9 lbs since monday and glad of that. But after leaving Monterrey I was in a wedding in Weslaco,TX was busy with that. So maybe walking alot probaly help that. I just got home last nite from texas and was I ever glad to see Mississippi. 19. hello rebrph, Who is doing ur refills? I going to have my lap band done on May 18th in Monterrey,MX. Theses US doctors think it's a sin to go out of this country. They are rude and it uncall for for calling themselves MD. I live in Batesville and wanted to know who you are using if ur using the nurse I've heard all good things about her.
  20. california29, Thank you so much for all your details. I have sent u a private message. I see ur BMI was 31 mind is 33. What was ur aunt? I'm glad ur told me about the local cuz I will be asking for that for sure. But u said u felt some poking? Oh I don't want to feel a thing. Please tell they knock u out. I had a C-section 24 yrs old and I had the dr to knock me out. The dr wanted me to have a spinal and be awake when my son was born. Noway!!! I told them to please knock me out. Thank again, Hope u and ur aunt are to a speedy recovery
