  1. hello again all i had my first fill last monday and all is going well ive started swimming 3 times a week and walking alot im realy happy i decided to go ahead with the band! food wise i dont have loads of restriction but do find if i eat too fast i get bad chest pains where it's got stuck, im enjoying my life again and hope you all are too, xxxx
  2. hi all, i was banded on feb 10th, im on normal food now, i have to be really carefull what i eat as i dont have any restriction at all, so i bought a smaller plate and smaller cutlery set just for my meals :eek: my surgery went ok considering i was petrified i went in at 10:50am and was back home in my own bed by 7:30pm the same day, i had quite alot of wind pain and am still finding it a bit uncomfortable on my shoulders, just waiting for my wounds to heal properly so i can start swimming each day, anyway hope your all recovering well xxxx

  5. hi all i got banded yesterday morning, it realy wasn't that bad! i was well nervous and scared but i neednt of been :smile: although the wind pain is quite painfull i found it helps to move around, the pain isnt half as bad as i thought it would be which is a bonus lol good luck for those that haven't been banded yet xxx

  7. ok so here it is my date has come, im being banded tommorow and allthough i feel ok now i am still very nervous of being put to sleep, thats probably the only thing ive thought about all day, i have 2 beautiful sons and a fantastic hubby i dont want to leave , im sure im just being silly, im sure i'll probably be calling myself a silly cow for worrying so much come tommorow night, :thumbup:

  9. congrats on getting your band! im scheduled for tuesday @ ashford hospital in middlesex my surgeon is mr horner i am still a little nervous but have met someone on facebook that was banded by the same surgeon 2 weeks ago and she has been helping me with my nerves a great deal as well as reading everyones experience on here, im no longer looking backwards im gonna look forwards with a big smile and know im gonna be around a while longer :bananalama:

  15. hiya mmm well i live in middlesex quite near to heathrow airport so im getting banded at ashford hospital by mr. Horner as my b.m.i is 54 i qualify for it free on the nhs which is great :scared2: it was pretty quick the process of getting a date i went to my doctor in october, had an appointment to talk to mr. Horner at the end of november and he gave me my date there and then i nearly fell off my chair, im allmost a week into my preop diet now and am coping pretty well:thumbup: . i must say though im getting really nervous ive got just over 2 weeks to go now. anyway good luck with your surgery xx feel free to add me as a friend if ya like,
  16. hi tink, im also being banded on feb 10th and like you the nearer it gets the more nervous i feel. good luck with with your liquid diet,my doc has put me on a very low fat (0.5gm of fat per 100gm) diet which i started monday im doing ok on it i am missing meat a bit though lol all i have to do is have 1 more blood test on monday and hopefully its all steam ahead then,
  17. hi all February bander's i'm getting banded on 10th feb and as its getting closer it seems to be the only thing i'm thinking of i'm even dreaming about it, i dont know if its nerves or excitement, well a bit of both i think :wink5: i haven't stocked up on anything really apart from multi vitamins and i will get a couple of good reads to take with me, i was told i only need to bring my dressing gown, slippers and a book on the day of my surgery, at the moment ive started today my 3 week pre op diet im on a fat free diet (no meat,pasta,rice,bread,nuts,pulses) any fruit,vegtables rice noodles with 0.5gm of fat per 100gm, i think i;ll cope ok with it only time will tell :ihih:

  19. hi i live in middlesex and i start my pre op diet on tuesday my surgery is on 10th feb and im on solids also i have been told to stick to a fatfree diet, no meats rice or pasta i have to eat foods that have less than 0.5 grams of fat per 100grm, as my date is getting nearer i have to say im pretty nervous but also very excited.

  21. i havent been banded yet, but my dietician told me that the darker meat of a chicken was easier to eat than chicken breast, don't know if that's any help?

  23. well the thing to remember is if you find your not getting on with the lapband it can be reversed.
  24. hi im new to this site and im due to have surgery on 10th february 2009 like you im also very nervous but then i stop and think about all the possitive things i will be able to do without this spare fat im carrying around, i have 2 son's and a fantastic husband supporting me but still find it easier to actually talk to someone elser that is going through the same thing as me, noone can answer wether your doing the right thing but you! i know i am, i wanna see my boy's get married and have families of thier own and i wanna be able to go swimming without people staring @ me like i shouldn't be there,and god only knows the last time i saw my feet :wink_smile: hope all goes well for you good luck hun xx
