  1. I was banded on wed also. Went through the same feelings as you did, except no shoulder pain. The only difference is. When my doc released me from the hopital, he said i can take advil or tylenol in-between the pain meds(percocept). For 3 days i didn't because my nutitionist said not to for at least 6 - 8 weeks. This morning i caved in and took 2 advil liqua gels at 10am. took a nap, then a nice warm shower. WOW... did i feel better, The advil reduced the swelling in my incisions and must of helped with my stomach. Now i can slowly drink my Water and sip my protien shakes. The pain has subsided and man do i feel good. I would call your Doctor first though and ask. Good Luck, It will get better.
  2. I'll be glad when I can..... Mow the lawn without a shirt on in the summer and not scare any of my neighbors... LOL....
  3. Hey Gang, Went in 7am July 22, 2009. Got banded at about 9:30am, was fine on wed, no sleep wed night, pain set in on thursday morning, and felt better on friday. No shoulder pain, Belly soreness is OK with meds, but drinking water and protein shakes is causing a gassy/almost stuck type of feeling. Anyone else having problems with their fluid intake? Other than that i am slowly feeling better. Godspeed to all of us...:cool2:
  4. How do you do it Nina? I was banded the same day and i cannot eat a thing. I am trying to consume water and my shakes but i feel as if i am forcing them down. Is everything you are drinking going down easily?
  5. No-Worries Nina, You seem to be doing just fine, although i would also cut out the pudding. I am haveing the same problem, Water and the protein shakes are the hardest to get down. My doctor told me that priority for the first day or two is water. to keep myself hydrated. My belly is still sore but they say we will get better after a couple of days. Do you find yourself getting tired and taking naps often?
  6. Congrats Bashful.... I am getting banded at 9am. A new start for us.. Good luck, and best wishes.

  8. Hey Gang, Another guy looking for some info... I have done alot of research and have my surgery scheduled for July 29th. I know 2 people who had the GB surgery, After having long talk with them, I chose the Band. Same reasons as listed by others. What-ever you chose, it's a decision only you can make. Best wishes.
