Butchered Belly Button
Thanks Fayfay! That makes me feel s little better, but still--there literally is a HOLE with a little bump on the side now, how in the world will that just get filled in? I'm getting the feeling that most people's buttons are just fine afterwards!

My First Pasta Experience
That's so odd. I heard that too and I don't understand what it is about pasta that would cause that. I have had some mac n cheese with my soft foods and been fine, as a matter of fact, nothing so far has bothered me in the least. Knock on wood

for those that have lost ALOT of weight, what are you going to do about the extra skin?
If you are considering plastic surgery read this: 3 years ago I had a tummy tuck w/liposuction. That is a brutal invasive surgery (including lipo post op) and a tough recovery BUT thrilled with results. If you keep your weight off you will be happy for life. If not, your weight will redistribute to other parts of your abdomen first before repopulating where you had the tummy tuck. Strange I know. Also It is expensive

Butchered Belly Button
O.M.G. I didn't notice before today due to soreness and lots of glue on my skin, but my belly button is butchered! It now looks like I have the bride of Frankensteins "belly button" surrounding a HOLE where the belly button would be. This is unbelievable, my surgeon is supposed to be the best around. I would have preferred an open procedure than this! I seriously feel I am going to have to get a belly button piercing just so I can cover it with a big gem!!! Or get a plastic surgeon to fix it. Anyone else disappointed in their new button job ??

Would this be ok on pur?ed diet?
Well I'm not the doctor, but I just had my first "mush" meal, and I had scrambled eggs with bits of sausage in it. I'm completely fine. What I did notice, is that I got full much quicker than before! I'm not bragging yet though, bandsters hell is right outside my door.......

Banded 3 weeks ago
Me too, same thing. I've gained 2 pounds. Other posts have said that once we get our first fill we will have real "restriction" and then should start losing again....

Does getting a fill hurt?
Thanks everybody! I will definitely warn the doctors they might have to revive me! I also better be sure to have a full stomach so less chance of seeing stars. Right before surgery, the phlebotemist came over and took my blood .He wasn't very good so it hurt. Then they stuck me with the big fat IV needle, then gave me a shot in the stomach, all within about 2 minutes. Right about then I thought "Oh boy, I'm going down....." but they managed to keep me conscious. How I pray this doesn't happen to me with a fill!!!

Does getting a fill hurt?
Okay, I never thought of this before, but now that I can tell where my port is, (it kinda hurts randomly) I am envisioning a needle going in there and wondering a couple things. 1. Does it HURT???? 2. How does your doctor know exactly where to place the needle?? Is it like getting blood drawn and he might miss, sticking you over and over til he finds the right spot? I tend to get faint if I get stuck with needles when it hurts! Yikes. Thanks to anyone that can give me some idea what to expect. Disclaimer: I approve this question and if you don't like it because it's been asked before, don't reply. Thank you.

Dripping, running, sniffiling, nose.
Wow that is so weird. After I get my fill in a few weeks I'll watch out for a runny nose!

pre op diet - need advise asap pls
Hi there, obviously I'm not the doctor or dietician, but I do know that fruits and soups except broth are not in a "liver shrinking" diet. Removing all sugars and carbs shrinks the liver pretty quickly, which is why many people are put on clear liquids or same with the protein shakes for the pre-op diet.

Dry skin!!!!
That's happening to me too, but I really think it is the weather. If any you have not tried Burt's Bees, give it a try, it's the best for dry skin!

YOU ARE GOING TO BE HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY
Fluffy, this is not the first post you've put up indicating your dissatisfaction with the poster's content. The fact is: new people will continue to come this board and will continue to post questions that have been asked before, whether you like it or not. If we wanted to just look up an answer without chatting we could go to any informational site, not a forum. Who wants to look up old posts within lapbandTALK when we can have interaction with current people today? If it bothers you so much you should find a new forum and stop bashing the rest of us who are new in this journey.

Did your Dr have you stop meds......
I'm pretty sure my friends were off their meds within the first year. They had lost most of their weight by then.

Period during surgery?
yeah IceQueen is right. Business as usual. I asked the nurse about that because I thought I might be having mine, and she said no problem, they have pads underneath you! Yuck I thought, please don't let me have it! She said I couldn't keep a tampon in, but I decided mentally that if it was my time, that I would keep it in anyway! I got lucky, it didn't happen !

Is it normal to feel this way?
Thanks for that tip! I am just on full liquids which as you many know has a little bit of "food" like Soup and grits, Protein drinks. I know I'm not even consuming 1000 calories a day, yet I've GAINED 2 pounds back! That has me very scared about what will happen when I'm eating real food!

Almost 2yrs and 100 lbs with neck and shoulder pain
I have the same thing. Your chiropractor should be able to tell you what stretches to do with your neck while at your desk, they make a HUGE difference.
