  1. Kim, Do you still live in Lewistown? There is a fill Dr. in Great Falls if your interested? Sharon
  2. Sula, I live in the Kalispell area. I was banded 5/26/06. I've lost 60 pounds so far but I've been stuck for about a month. Might be time for another fill. I was in Great Falls this last weekend and met a women who lives in Great Falls that was banded in TJ. Her name is Terri. She talked about someone she knows that was banded in Monterrey. Do you know Terri? There's so few of us you just might. How did you like Dr. Chapa? I was fortunate with Dr. Sanchez. He was such a sweet man. Very huggie. Well write if you like. Sharon
  3. Sula, What part of Montana do you live in? Where in Mexico are you being banded? Sharon
  4. I know your frustration. In my state there is only 1 Dr. that will fill for Mx patients. Good luck. Sharon ps. I live in Montana
  5. Well imagine that at over 200 lbs I'm considered healthy at 5'. I guess the pain in my legs, ankles and shortness of breath (this is why I got the lapband) are just in my head. What a crock. They've been stressing how overweight people are and to get healthy and no they are saying go ahead and stay fat??? Wonder if insurance companies are behind this? =-) I think I'll stick to my orginal plan of losing the weight. Sharon
  6. My experience with Dr. Sanchez and his staff was wonderful. Dr. Cantu says that he puts a little mexican medicine in your I V so you don't get sick. (he's just kidding) but I didn't get sick. They are very nice and professional. Sharon
  7. Thank you for the pictures. I go in for my first fill next week. I too was banded by Dr. Sanchez. How do you know if you have a low profile band? Thank you. Sharon
  8. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 5/25/06. Wonderful experience. No regrets. You're in great hands. Sharon
  9. Here you go. O sugar added Regular Calories w/ff milk 150 220 Fat .5 1g Carbs 12 27g Sugar 7 20 Protien 4 5 g I have both and prefer the 0 sugar added. Sharon
  10. Every morning I have CIB chocolate no sugar added with skinny delight ff milk. (skinny delight tastes just like 2%). Lasts me until lunch. Yummmm.
  11. That's very strange. Maybe he had an emergency?? Make sure you get copies of your band files. I know Dr. Rohrer needs proof of Inamed band to do fills. We had a Dr. up in Kalispell who just left with records and files. Many people couldn't get their kids in school because he had the shot records. It took up to a year to get them. If you know him personaly I would call him. I'd keep checking with the office though. Good luck. Sharon
  12. Hello, I have both and with the tredmill you get more of a workout. The gazelle is more low impact. I like the gazelle better personally. Sharon
  13. If anyone hears of the Dr. in Kalispell that does the band fills please let me know. That is only a few miles from me. I have had no luck. Sharon
  14. I checked with Dr. Hennessey's office and they don't fill patients from Mexico. Too bad more options would have been nice. Sharon
  15. I chose the middle package because of cost. It was a huge bonus that they paid for my flight living in MT. I wish I had choses the Diamond package now for my first fill but that's just the way it goes. I'm 6 weeks out and have had no food or physical complications. I haven't had a fill yet and honestly don't think I need one yet. Still loosing 2-3#'s a week. Best wishes. Sharon
  16. It is so important to have aftercare arranged before your surgery. I found in MT only 1 Dr. that will take patients from MX. In Olympia the Dr.'s name is Dr. William Neal and he does fills under fluoro which is great. His phone # is 360-412-3120. If I hadn't found a Dr. in MT I was going to go to Dr. Neal. Best wishes. Sharon
  17. Courtney, I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 5/25/06. I live in Montana and had done research for over a year. My experience with the entire surgery with him was wonderful. My husband was not thrilled with me going to MX to have surgery but he commented to the Dr. that I had received wonderful care and he would have no reservations coming back. For my husband this is HUGE to admit. Dr. Sanchez's staff was wonderful and willing to help me in anyway needed. Make sure you have follow up care ready for when you return. Some Dr's will not take a patient from MX. I have no regrets and would do it again in a heart beat. Best wishes. Sharon
  18. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 5/25/06. Wonderful experience. His entire staff was wonderful and went out of their way to help you. No regrets at all. His website has a support group that has a file for fill dr's in the US. Best wishes. Sharon
  19. I had to have mine taken out after loosing 60 pounds on slim-fast about 6 yrs ago (needless to say I gained it back) and was banded recently. Sharon
  20. Hello, I was banded in MX and during my hospital stay there was a man there with his wife who had been banded by Dr. Neal. He had nothing but praise about him. He was there with his wife who was being banded in MX (her insurance wouldn't pay for the surgery) and Dr. Neal was going to do her follow up. If I had not found a fill Dr. here in Montana I was prepared to go to him for fills. He is on my Dr's list for follow up care in the US. Good luck. Sharon
  21. I'm so glad to hear that your are taking the class. It really teaches you how to react to the people out on the road. Most of the time they don't see you. Ok. I am 5'1" and had a HD Sportster and rode for 6 years. I finally came to the conclusion that I really needed a bigger stronger bike. Semi's going by you really cause wind flow. I sold my bike and am now certain I will get a Heritage Softail. I rode one and my feet could touch the ground (with boots on). The only problem I had was I would need to get a kickstand extender because my legs are too short to put it up. I chose the Harley because that is what I was raised with. Grandparents, father, uncles etc... It's truely a wonderful feeling to go down the road. Here's a riding tip. Buy a pare of handwashing gloves (like playtex). If it's raining you can slip them on over your regular gloves and your hands stay dry. Good luck with your class. Sharon
  22. Hello, My mom was NOT supportive at first. She was not happy with me. She told me that I had lost the weight before many times and I could do it again. I told her that that's the problem. I have lost it over and over and over again only to gain it back plus more. I needed something to help control what I ate and not feel hungry. I told her she raised a smart girl and I had been researching every aspect of this surgery for over a year. She still didn't like it but was more supportive. (She really flipped out when I told her I was going to Mexico to have it done. I live in Montana). But in the end she's ok with it now. Sharon
  23. Hello, Before my surgery I checked with Dr. Sanchez's office about a pre-opt diet because I has read about others required to do so. The Dr.s office said they did not require a pre-opt diet and to enjoy my "Last Meal " pre-banded. No problems. Good luck on your surgery. Sharon
  24. Hi, I'm on mushies too. For breakfast I have 1 scrambled egg OR a Carnation Breakfast. Lunch I have tuna with mayo and cut up pickle (chew well). I just made potatoe salad. (Chew well). Cream soups. Bean and Bacon is good. I eat about 1/2 cup wait a few moments and then see if I'm still hungry. So far so good. Mashed potatoes with a little gravy is good too. Sharon
  25. Sherri, I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 5/25. Still healing but have absolutely no regrets. I was scared too. I remember going into the surgery room and thinking "I'll wake up in a little bit and it will be over" and that's what happened. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and I've lost 16 lbs. The entire hospital staff were very gentle and you will be very pleased with the surgical staff. You've spent alot of time researching and getting ready. Now it's time to relax. Good luck with your surgery. Sharon
