Need some advice Please
Reflux is a sign of being too tight. The only remody is an unfill or medication.
-
Do I need another fill?
My doctor recommends a fill 2 weeks apart. You are ready.
-
Body Lift
I would post this under cosmetic surgery. You'll get a lot more of a response there. I had a tummy tuck for $11600 and a thigh lift for $8500.

OMG!!! Dinner Party Disaster
You handled that very well. Pizza is really hard to get down. Next time try and just eat some protein with the salad.
-
How Much Are Fills?
Mine are $200 each.

Sushi??
Sashimi is raw fish. The maguro (tuna) and hamachi (yellow tail) is really good. It is very high in protein and keeps you full longer. I have that with a cup of rice and its perfect.

Were you informed about PS before you were banded?
I knew with over 100 lbs to lose I most likely would need a tummy tuck. That being said I had one 20 lbs from goal. I am now 10 lbs from goal and my stomach looks really good. It is definitely an added expense but worth it.

Fill and Unfill Question
You have to ask your surgeon. My surgeon has a policy of 7 days I believe. If you are too tight its only $25 or so just for the needle.
-
@#*Popcorn#@*
Popcorn goes down just like sand. You shouldn't have a problem with it.
-
Sushi??
With good restriction you probably will not be able to get down more than a couple pieces. I have now gone to sashimi and feel really good. I can eat the entire order of sashimi because its a soft food and very high in protein.

Can I drive the next day do you think?
I think 1 day post op is a little agressive. I would have my husband drive me. Congrats on your surgery.

lab band/or gastric bypas
Crystal, the lapband success at year 1 is 60% of your excess weight. Gastic bypass is 80%. With that being said, at year 3 they are the same. With gastric bypass there is typically about a 20% gain. It will take you a while to lose 140 lbs but it will be worth it. I never really considered gastic bypass. It is way too dangerous. Good luck with your decision.

I'm very nervous - surgery is tomorrow!
Erica, everything will be okay. Just take it easy the next week or so. Good luck tomorrow.

So my doctor just recommended lap-band surgery for me
HI Ellen, I've been banded 2 years. The nice thing about the band is you can eat everything, just less of it. Good luck with your journey.

Onederland and a pair of size 14 jeans!!!
Erin, that is fantastic news. I am about 13 lbs from onederland too. I'm in a size 16 in some sizes and 18s in others. My goal is size 16 in jeans. Good job!

Well, that SUCKED.
That sucks. Glad you are okay though. Good that the car is newer. I would just get it repaired. Hope you can get a rental car to keep up with those jobs!

Hot tub or small pool?
I have both and we use the hot tub a lot more. A hot tub is way less expensive to run year round. Go for the hot tub.

Ate Too Much
It takes a lot to stretch out your pouch so you're probably fine. You need to slow down your eating. The sensation of being full will come when you slow down. Good luck.

dizzy after being banded
Yes, I would call your doctor. Sounds like it is just the change in your diet. Good luck and welcome to band land.

HELP! I'm feeling really lost
Hi Cindi, you are fine. You didn't hurt your band. I would move back to liquids then move to soft foods within 2 weeks. The swelling should be going down soon so when you do eat a soft diet you will know the difference. Good luck.
-
What types of foods are called mushies?
cottage cheese, chili, chicken and tuna salad, eggs
-
Socializing smack dab in the middle of liquid diet
I would go to a restraunt that serves soup for sure. Also, if you plan on drinking alcohol make sure its not carbonated. Have fun.

I got APPROVED
Hi Shannon, I had my PS on 4/21 and I'm still recovering. I had a tummy tuck and thigh lift. Best of luck to you.

HELP! I'm feeling really lost
Hi Cindi, welcome to band land. Scrambled eggs are really hard to get down so I would move away from them. While you are healing I would stick to soups, cottage cheese, maybe some chili when the time is right. Don't eat soft foods too soon. It takes about 2 weeks to move onto the next stage. I would stick to creamy soups without chicken, protein shakes and maybe some yogurt or apple sauce for a week or 2. Best of luck on your journey.
