Terrible Sore Throat!
Mine went away in 1 day but I used that throat spray . I'm not sure what it is named but it numbs your throat. I would go to the pharmacy and see if you can find it. Oh, I think it is Cloraseptic spray. Julie

PB Question - Just had one! Help!
PB is productive burp. It is exactly like vomitting. Sometimes chunks come out or sometimes it more like vomitting where you vomit what is in your pouch. Depends on how full you are. I don't get gas now, but I had it early on. Julie

going crazy pre op?
Tanderson, the thing you should do is eat protein, lots of protein. You need to get in 60 grams a day when you are banded. I would also try and drink 1 protein shake a day. A lot of bandsters use protein supplements to get their protein in. In the liquid phase they will be your friend. Eat your protein first, then your vegie, then a carb. Naturally you will eat a lot, but it will give you a feel for the diet. I can only eat 1/2 cup at a time, just an FYI. Julie

Regiratation
Great job. I feel really good today. I haven't PB'd all day either. Ate my tri tip in small bites and took my time. I think I was actually able to get 2 oz down tonight.

Who is right??
My insurance was only BMI of 40+. I didn't have to go through anything else. I have United Healthcare.

Damn
Frozen meals are terrible for you. There aren't a ton on the market that I would eat. I did find some seafood the other day that was really healthy. But after looking at the super market I found it difficult to buy anything frozen.

Grazing!
Grab a cheese stick. I think they are only 80 calories and protein.

reeces pieces mmmm
Better food choice. I can at pretzels no problem. Can't really eat too many of them though.

Fast food question
If I eat out I try and eat a McDonalds grilled chicken caesar with the reduced fat Paul Newman's dressing. It is difficult for me to get all the chicken in. It may take me an hour to eat just the chicken. That is a great choice though. If I eat a hamburger for example I can only eat 1/4 go 1/2. I feel like its a waste of calories. Good luck. Make healthy choices. That is what is most important.

Baby!
Congrats. What a beautiful baby.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow!
Bec, congrats on getting banded. Just take the next 6 weeks before your first fill and heal. Don't worry if you gain a few lbs moving to solids. It will come off after your first fill. Good luck in your journey. Julie

Banded on Thursday
Hiccups are totally normal, especially when you eat. Sounds like you are exactly where you should be in the healing process. Just take your time healing, follow the preop diet and heal.

I just had a fill, am I too full
I've hear that a 7 day wait is typically the best to have a fill set in. I would give it some time.
-
Hiccups
Yes, hiccups are normal. I get them all the time.

Hello, Just thinking
Welcome to lapband talk forum. I've been banded 10 months and I'm down 52 lbs and 2 sizes. I am considered an average loser at 1 lb a week. Its been a long journey but truthfully the first 50 lb was easy. Now I am having more difficulty taking off the extra 50. I've had to bump up my exercise quite a bit. Julie

worried
I agree with Alexandra. I also think a lot of doctors in the US prefer high BMIs. You can always go to Mexico to have it done otherwise.

pre/post-op diet
2 weeks liquids, 1-2 weeks mushies, then solids. You will be able to eat cornbread dressing on the mushie stage. Hope this helps. Julie

Do you ever feel like the lapband is cheating?
I find it as a tool. Plain and simple. I still need to count calories, drink my water and exercise. Obesity is a disease that while managed through diet and exercise is not curable. Good luck with your decision. I find the lapband to be wonderful. Julie

Regiratation
You're welcome. Keep this in mind when you are eating. There are sensors at the top of your stomach. When the pouch fills up it will send the full signals to your brain. That takes a few minutes. Eating slow is what you want to do. Small bites of meat the size of a pencil eraser is what you want. If you are eating more than 1/2-3/4 cup of food at once you need a fill. I can only eat 1/2.
