  1. I'm so disappointed to see no responses to this post. I'm new to the Toledo area - just moved from Kansas City. I'd love to meet some people here.
  2. I am new in the Toledo area so I can't recommend a surgeon here - but I'd be happy to talk to your sister about my lap band experiences and provide some local support if she needs it.
  3. Hello Ohio!! I recently moved from Kansas City. I'm working from home so have not had much social interaction. My boyfriend is great, but he's not enough!! Some of my best friends are friends that I met in Kansas City after being banded (January 2009), so I thought I'd come in here and see who I can find. LOL Let's talk! I'd love to make some new friends!
  4. That's what I thought. So....... if the time period has passed, how do I contact an Admin to help me change something? I need an administrator to contact me.
  5. I have a post that I want to edit, but I can't figure out how to do it! There is the "You may edit your posts" note at the bottom of my screen, but I can't find how or where. Thanks.
  6. Just a note to update that this group is still active and meeting regularly. If anyone ever wants to join us, just send me an email at LBT Looking forward to meeting more banded people in the Leavenworth/Lansing area!
  7. Some people say that the ache in the left side is a sign of being full. Remember that being full will feel different now than it ever did before. Hopefully that's all this is. :tongue2:
  8. Thanks for the tip! I ordered one too.
  9. I hate it that happened to you. There is a person at my surgeon's office who is like that so I make my appointments for fills with the other person. Most of us have issues from our past similar to this that were a part of gaining weight. (Mine was my step-dad humiliating me in front of anyone who would listen. All that did was fuel me to eat more and gain more.) Very sad. If this woman is the only person you can use for fills, you need to tell her how this interaction made you feel. She may sincerely have no idea and needs to realize that everyone is different. If she's effective, she'll use a different approach with different patients.
  10. The only thing that works on gas pain for me (extreme left shoulder pain) is Maalox with simethicone in it (you have to check the label). It works every time!!
  11. This should not keep you from being able to have surgery. I also have a history of blood clots. I have Factor V and am now on lifetime maintenance coumadin. I was given a shot of Lovenox before surgery and compression "boots" for several hours after. No problems at all. Remember to get up and walk as often as possible once you get home.
  12. I got my band on 1/13, and I'm down from 261 to 219. Feeling GREAT about that! I've had only one fill (and two appointments since where we decided I didn't need any more yet). I walk on the treadmill 3 or 4 times a week for 30 minutes. Haven't had much trouble with head hunger yet. I'm still just so excited about it all that I'm in the groove. I think the head hunger will haunt me when the weight loss slows down.
  13. We now have an official location and are meeting the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Please send me an email if you want more info and the location address!! beverly
  14. And my doctor's orders are liquids for 48 hours after a fill. Everyone is different. Hang in there and congrats on your weight loss!
  15. The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. Please contact me or TracyinKS for the location address and more info. :frown:
