The BodyBug...I'm not sure I "get" it. I'm fanatical about tracking stuff, too, but I don't see what this does to justify the cost. What am I missing? It tracks how many calories you are burning based on skin temperature, right? There must be more to it than I'm realizing.

Hey, SUZZZIE! J is right...names get real abbreviated in here. I'm TX, for example. She suggested a few...did you like any of them? One or two letters is the general guideline. ZZ might be cool? There is no ZZ here yet! Somehow, I have NO PROBLEM believing that is your favorite hand sign! LOL

You can say THAT again! It's mortifying that it happened, but still gives a chuckle.

L.D. Bell is one of the biggest high schools in Texas. Last year, the Senior Sponsor (A FEMALE TEACHER, NO LESS), approved this to go on the front of the graduating senior class t-shirts, ordered them and they were distributed before the adults became aware of what it truly meant. I don't know what the students told the sponsor it was to pull that over on her. Needless to say, it was then banned from from being worn at school and all school functions.

Aw, y'all know what that is! You just never heard it called that before! I didn't know it had its' own "sign" untill last week when I was volunteering at the high school. The fact that I hear about that in the school is disturbing, I know.

So right! I bought a $250 Schwinn Hybrid from Target and wish to God I had done my homework better and put that money towards a real road bike! I thought a bike was a bike was a bike...boy, was I ever wrong!

JC - Great AB work! LOL Great dog, too. Oh, Koda is just fine trust me! He is completely secure in his manhood...he humps everything in sight, which is bad when we have company! HP - Is it normal that my Poms "endowment" is bigger than HE is? It is positively, grotesquely HUGE. After a romp with one of his stuffed animals, he can't even walk or it drags the floor!

Man, that IS extreme! That link you gave me to the FWBA? This months' newsletter is downloadable and has an article about one of the members doing that! You should read it, though...it sounds amazing! It is part one of I don't know how many. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay...just took a break...mid-post...to look up how far that is. ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!? I can't believe you had the audacity to say I move fast! LOL I know you know this, but I feel it MUST be said...745.65 MILES?!?!? I can't even phathom the notion. Well, one thing is for sure. You give me plenty of things to start researching. Curiosity will kill me one of these days.

Yeah, B...I know. I was telling SUZZZIE earlier today that I'm an extremist. When I decide to go, I GO! That's pretty much for everything across the board. Work, play, excercise...everything. Bike toy probation...too funny. I may need to tiptoe and sweet talk, or I may end up there with ya! SUZZZIE - These folks know what they are talking about! And B is a fellow Texan, too! (Always a bonus!)

Hey, SUZZZIE! At the rate you are going with your excercise, I wouldn't sell yourself short. You will be bored with a regular bike (Target, Walmart, etc.) in no time, as am I, and mine is brand new. Check sales...this is the time of year. Also, if you join your local bike club, it usually entitles you to discounts in your local bike shop (LBS). And then many have layaway, so you could have yourself a nice road bike for Spring! Everyone here already knows, but I'm looking at the Specialized Dolce...very reasonable at $799 and lots of features. But there are many to consider...GO SHOPPING! EDIT: I didn't even realize major bike brands started as low as 250-300! There you go!

B - Have I got a deal for you! Seriously, Ebay is the way to go! Otherwise, you KNOW how much they cost. I'm watching a brand new set with clips now. JUST DON'T YOU BID AGAINST ME! LOL The bike I'm looking at comes with toe cages...those things scare the HELL out of me!
-

HA! You found me! Dang-it, now I have to move again! LOL Didn't you figure out that YOU were the one I was talking about? (JUST KIDDING :kiss2:)

Does anyone here use Speedplay pedals/clips? How do you like them?

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Aw, shucks, J! Thanx! I love it here, too...everyone is so laid back and REAL! Yeah, I can't imagine facing months of no riding outside. Do y'all use trainers inside? Stationary bikes just aren't the same to me...maybe using a trainer would be better? I'm thinking about getting one just because I get the urge to ride at weird times, like when I can't sleep at night.

JC - Thanks! He's adorable! Yeah, when I picked that tag in the machine, it was red...then out popped a pink tag! Oh well! His name is Koda, and he is so much fun. After having Black Labs literally all my life, it is quite a switch to have a five-pound ball of fur! Yes, it has the Zerks. If I remember correctly, in the same locations as your except for trading in handlebars for one below the seat post? Sounds like you had a great weekend! What do you do for your ab work? I do quite a bit myself, and always looking to add to it or change it up some for variety. D - No problem! Actually, it was orange for Halloween and I'm sick of changing it every time anyhow. Sorry I was making you cross-eyed!

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
B - Thanks for all the info! I'm impressed! I'm looking into endurance fueling now. I'm such a newbie, so all info is new to me as yet! HP - I *think* I may have found my bike! I went to my LBS this afternoon and did quite a few test rides. By far the most comfortable for me was the Specialized Dolce. After researching, I really thought I was sold on a Trek, but the Specialized was so much more comfortable. And less expensive, too! On another topic, here is a pic of one of my kids when we first brought him home last year...

J - Only one...how did you feel towards the end and after the ride? B - That's awesome that you have done the HHH! Which version did you do? (There is 25M, 50M, 100K and 100M.) I want to go for the whole 100M! Do you recall how long it took you to make it to Hell's Gate? I would be so disappointed in myself if I didn't make it before it closed and they re-routed me to the 80M alternate route! It's scheduled to close at 12:30, but last year they closed it early because of the heat. BG - OMG where in the world did you get that pic! And WHY?!?!? LOL
-

Wow, that is very encouraging, indeed! You're my hero, Ferris Bueller! I have a camel back...definitely more comfortable than a camel toe! What kind of shorts do you wear? The ones with the gel pads? And helmet? Any other clothing recommendations? And what kind of bike do you ride? What did you take with you on that big ride...as far as food, water, powerade, anything else? How did you prepare in the days before the ride? Oh, too many questions, I know.

Yeah BG, it does look sweet, huh? I really need to figure out what my body needs as far as hydration and nutrition for something like that, though, or I will bomb. I also need to get a full road bike and not use my hybrid. Being in Texas, it is certainly named appropriately to be held in August! It's a good thing we are cooling off now for me to start training for it. My sis is gearing up for a half marathon in January right now, so she will cheer me on...she cycles, as well as runs. (She had gastric bypass in 2005.) I guess they will fly out for him to ride in the endurance ride with me. (They live in SC.) My BIL's Dad wants to do it now, too! We'll see how it goes! Those preserves sound scrumptious! I'll have to look for something like that here!
