august exercise challenge
I'm very excited about this, I'm 5 miles in so far.... I usually start off strong and slack off towards the end of the month but hopefully the challenge of 10 extra miles will keep me going strong all month!! I also think that monthly goals are important, I also have a weight loss goal of 10lbs a month for the rest of 2009. Going to Mexico in December and really want to be 245lbs.

Life is Good
Restless you're right.... Life is good, and I too want to thank you for all your words of wisdom. I am a Restless follower because you do it right, you don't get overfilled for a quick weight loss, you're patient and you don't believe there should be forbidden foods. I have mirrored those same standards which I believe are going to be the key to lapband sucess! Now enough about you ( LoL ) Life is good because I am finally under 300lbs and seeing parts of my body that I haven't seen in years!!!!!

Please help; not loosing weight.
Relax, your bloated from all the gases they pumped in you during surgery, anyway this time is all about healing so just stay on your post op food plan and stay off of the scale. Make this the start of a whole new lifestyle, new attitude, and knowing that non scale victories are just as important, such as inches lost, clothes fitting better and just overall feeling better!!! Good luck!!!

2nd day pre-op full liquid....I CHEATED!!!!!
Personally I would stay away from fast food, I mean you have a food addiction why put yourself in that position? This pre op diet is serious and it's important that you focus and follow your specific plan given to you from your surgeon. Then there's the post op diet that needs to be followed so you can heal properly.... Just dig deep and remember why your doing this!!!!!

Anything helpful besides a blender?
I have a cusinart immersion blender, stick blender. It's amazing, I looked at the magic bullet but I have no need for 17 pieces. The stick blender is just 2 pieces.

No Fair!
Are you still on mushies?, the reason I ask is because once you get off of mushies and on to solids you might not need a fill.... this is just my experience but when I was on mushies I could not wait to get my fill, went to my surgeon and since I had such a big weight loss he said let's wait until you stop losing and he told me that I needed to challenge my band with solids, so I started eating chicken breasts, tuna, pork, salmon, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and even pita bread and he was right, I am stuffed for 5 hours when I eat these foods where as when I would eat mashed potatoes, puddings, or cereals, I would be starving an hour later..... so I am 4 months out and I have not needed a fill. Just something to think about, we're all different and this is just my experience. Of course there will be a time when I need a fill but I had one scheduled in 2 weeks and I already canceled it. Good luck.

Scared. Please Read.
For me when I get something stuck, I slime until it goes down, slime is not throwing up just lot's of saliva that I can't swallow. This happens when I take to big of a bite as well. What you're experiencing sounds normal but let your doc know since you have a follow up this morning.

Can You loose it without the fills
Well here goes my thoughts, I am 4 months out with no fill and as long as I stick with solids I have restriction. I eat all my favorite foods just smaller amounts. I eat about a 1-1.5 cups of food per meal and I walk a lot! I can't imagine being filled to the point that I could only get soft stuff down. I do think there are physological elements to this. At some point I will need a fill but I have lost 55 lbs in 4 months and I'm happy with that.

I'm feeling very full without a fill
Something to think about, just because your scheduled for your first fill does not mean that you have to get it. When you get off of mushies and start eating solids like chicken, pork and hard boiled eggs or even pita bread, these foods will satisfy you longer and you might lose weight for a while without a fill. I am 4 month out and have not had a fill, I am losing and still able to eat all my favorite foods just less then I use to. So when you get to solids, don't baby your band with mushies that will go straight through try solids that will stick with you longer. I love the fact that I still eat all my favorite foods! Good luck!

Banded a month ago, no fill yet. Hungry!!
It means productive burp, they say it's not like throwing up but bringing the stuck food back up in a non violent way.... Hopefully Restless will come back and expkaine it better, she has lot's of band knowledge.... In my opinion when she talks.... Listen!!!!

Banded a month ago, no fill yet. Hungry!!
Hi Mandy. Are you eating solid foods or are you still on mushies? I only ask because if you are on still on mushies then the next phase (solids) may help with your hunger. I was so ready for my first fill but my surgeon decided not to give me one because I was losing great and once he let me start eating solid foods such as chicken, pork, hard boiled eggs and even pita bread I realized that I did have restriction I just didn't realize it because I was not challenging my band with the right foods. Now I am 4 months out and still no fill. If you are on solids and still hungry then it sounds like you are ready for a fill.

What was I thinking?
Little2be, how excited you must be. Rachnesa, I was 374 lbs when I started my pre op and lost 30 lbs, I was banded at 344 lbs in (same as you) Since my surgery day March 24th I have lost 54lbs and I haven't even needed a fill yet!!!

Bad breath
I am sooo with you ALL on this one, constant bad breath and I live on tic tacs and mini altoids! The only thing I do think kinda works is chewing on mint leaves found in the produce section.
