  1. Thank you, I'll give it a try. Is RNY what is called?
  2. Does anyone know of a site I can go to get support for bypass surgery? I had lapband, it slipped and was removed, in a year I gained back :help: all the weight I lost (60 lbs) and dedided to get bypass surgery. I need to talk to other people about it.
  3. Your post was very informative. Congratulations. I am in the process of trying to get approved for laproscopic gastric bypass. My biggest block is my insurance. They paid for the band but turned me down for the re-band. I've since decided to go with the gastic anyway due to some information classes. I'm praying the insurance will approve me. It's so frustrating. My daughter is getting married in Oct. I want to loose weight before that and I can't. I'm so weak! I'm trying to stay positive. Did your insurance give you a hard time? :help:
  4. I'm thinking of going back to Weight Watchers for the millionth time. How are you doing with it?
  5. Thank you for you reply. You've given me hope. I lost my band 8 months ago. The Dr. who did it is no longer doing them. I went on line and after awhile I found a new Dr. I have an appointment tomorrow. From what I can tell he's willing if the insurnce is. How do I fight it if they turn me down?
  6. Did your insurance pay for the second banding?
  7. I'm sorry you are faced with losing your band. I lost mine after only 8 months. I've been struggling ever since. I'm praying my insurance will cover it again. The removal was not bad at all. It was almost the same as the placement but the incisions were smaller. I wish you luck.

Since being unbanded (2/3/06) I've gainded 25 ugly pounds. I hate myself, I'm embarrased in front of my family. I cringe when they look at me. I think about losing it 24 hours a day while I'm pigging out on chips, peanut butter cups, etc. Please God help me gain control of myself. Yesterday I ate: sausage & eggs Sun chips coconut cake peanut butter cups BBQ ribs sun chips peanut butter cups. Why do I buy these things? IF they are'nt in the house I won't eat them. I won't make a special trip to get them. I buy them when I'm shopping for other things. How can I stop myself?:angry

  10. Ddee, I like your out look on losing the band. Ive been thinking I want to be re-banded but the sick feeling is seeping back into my memory. It was bad the last few days before removal. If I could just get control of myself and stop eating between meals.I go to the Y as often as I can so I'm sure that helps but I am slowly gaining the weight back. I don't know what to do.
  11. Hi, My doctor is such a pain there's no way he'll give me pills. In fact I'm looking for a new one. THe day before my surgery I had to have a shot for blood clotting. He would not give it to me (the banding hospital and Dr.are 45 miles away). My band Dr. thought my GP would give it to me.I ended up doing it myself. My GP did NOT want me to have the band at all. I basically told him I'm doing it either way.Sounds like you have a good Dr. Do the pills have side effects?
  12. Dear Dody, Thank you for your response. I live in Albany, NY. A size 12 is wonderful, especially since your 5"7. I'm surprised the service paid for your lapband. That's great. I just would like to know if my insurance will pay for me to have it again. My low weight was 150, now I am 176, size 14. I diet and go to the Y 4-5 times a week. Here at work all they do is eat. It's very hard. I want to go back to 150 so badly. I have to get myself together and stop indulging. The Dr. who did my band was 1 hour away so I know what you mean. I hope your son is OK and they can fix it without major surgery. How old is he? I'm leaving here in an hour or so and I'm off till Monday. I hope to hear from you again. Keep your chin up and please know I understand 100% . Love, Honey
  13. You are so lucky to still have your band. At least you have hope. I lost my band and I'm gaining with nothing to stop me. I am trying to get re-banded but the Dr. who did it stopped doing them. Good luck with your fills and I think its a smart idea to get a little at a time. I'm sure it will give you the restriction you need in time.
  14. I was in the hospital twice for dehydration. I held off getting the band taken out to the last minute, it ended up emergency surgery and I begged the doctor to try to save it. He said he could'nt. He stopped doing the band surgery because of insurance issues. Now I'm trying everything and anything. I've sent the paper work in to Albany Med requesting to be rebanded there but have'nt heard from them yet. I pray they will do it again.
