  6. you are welcome to join us here --> http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f293/looking-my-band-twin-3-25-09-a-89920/ most of us were banded 3/25 or right around it.
  7. i was always gung ho on getting the band. but i think i know what you're feeling. a few days before my surgery, i thought to myself "wow, this is kind of drastic." and then i realized, hey, i've been dieting since i was 13. and it did nothing but make me heavier & heavier each year. i think banding is the right thing to do when everything else you've tried failed. and, statistics say that when a morbidly obese person loses weight through conventional dieting, they have only a 5% chance of keeping it off. that was enough to make me follow through with the band.
  8. i think most of us don't feel a lot of restriction until we get our fills. so hang in there, you are on your way ! as for the ticker - if you go to tickerfactory.com, just follow the steps to make a ticker, and make sure you copy the BBcode (which is used for bulletin boards like this one) and insert it into your signature.
  9. hi, i'm up in cleveland. got banded on 3/25. i created an 'ohio bandsters' group so that us ohioans could get together this year, to meet and talk, and make new friends. if you look at my profile, you'll see the group on there.
  10. hi all. started opti fast 3/11: 273 day of surgery 3/25: 263 today 4/10: 252 no complaints. it's about what i expected. my first fill is 4/24, which is 30 days post surgery.
  11. how funny ! i am a sugar junkie, but all i crave is spicy food !
  12. i'm wondering if you guys have the same thing i have.... my port incision is about 2 inches across. when i feel the area below the incision, it feels okay. but when i feel the area above the incisions, it feels sort of "hard". i'm just wondering if the actual port is above the incision? or is this scar tissue?
  13. susan - welcome to the group ! i was banded 3/25 in cleveland ohio. ny - i just started on mushies yesterday. i probably ate too much because my stomach felt "full" for 90 minutes LOL. i get my first fill on 4/24, which is 4 wks + 2 days post surgery.
  14. i believe "Lucky Losers" was the winner <see below>

  19. hi kygie ! welcome to our little group. i hope we can keep this thread going for a while. it's a real help to me to stay in touch with others who are going through this !!! yeaaaaa 4 us !!!
  20. i don't feel much restriction either. i guess the band is just "on" until we get our 1st fill.
  21. here's a recipe to try for weeks 3-4. sounds good. "LASAGNA" In a Cereal bowl put a layer of low fat ricotta cheese at the bottom of the bowl Add a layer of spagetti sauce (use Barilla as it's a lower sugar one) Sprinkle garlic power and grated parmesean cheese on top of sauce Add a layer of shredded low fat mozzarella cheese Microwave on a low setting just to heat through and melt the cheeses
  22. 'lucky losers' wasn't my fav name either. i think i voted for 'march melters.' oh well.
