  1. well, i finally got around to posting my before album. :scared2: posting my pics and weights makes me feel a little more accountable. does anyone else feel the same way?
  2. awesome hunzi ! :scared2: congratulations ! are you doing full liquids for 2 weeks?
  3. ok, thanks. there is a 'vitamin shoppe' close by. i'll have to check it out. i also bought some cookies & cream whey powder from drugstore.com. it's awesome. how is everyone else doing? my surgery was march 25th. i am down 15 since my pre-admission testing (march 4th). i don't get my fill for another 3 weeks.
  4. hi - it looks like you are copying the HTML code. i think you need to copy the bbCode instead. bbCode: (Message Boards code, FertilityFriend.com's boards, phpBB based boards, Invision Power Board, vBulletin...)
  5. ok, i'm confused (so what's new ). i have to do the mushies from day 14 to 28. are soft cheeses allowed during that time?
  6. normally (pre surg), i had awful IBS. but since surgery, yes, i have had a few bouts with Ms. Rhea (diarhea - LOL). no normal stools yet.
  7. i guess every doc/hospital does it differently huh? i go for my post-op appt next tues (which is day 14). then i see the doc around day 28. i can't tell if my port is red or not because i have to keep it covered 3 more days. my 4 incisions have that glue stuff on them which is starting to come off, so the incision are red there, and have a little dried blood. are you on full liquids for 14 days? i am. it's about killing me LOL. :cool2:
  8. you probably didn't make the wrong decision ! my doc waits 4 weeks before doing the 1st fill. remember, you've had major abdominal surgery. you need time to heal. and as for the woman who never feels anything, she is the exception, not the rule. a lot of bandsters don't feel hungry and have to be reminded to eat. so hang in there, give it some time. if you do "your" thing, it will do "it's" !!! take care, karen :-)
  9. here's roughly what my doc said. i hope this helps: day 1 through 14: 7 cups of fluids / 900 cal / 55 grams Protein examples of liquids: pulp free juices Water tea blenderized, strained Soup low fat milk Protein Drink crystal light 1/2 popsicle SF Jello or pudding day 15 though 27 (thin purees) 7 cups of fluids/ 1025 cal / 75 grams protein after drinking a Fluid, wait 15 minutes (or more) before eating after eating, wait 45-60 minutes before drinking examples of food: diet snapple (tea) very thin cream of wheat with low fat milk pureed fruit Protein drinks pureed Lean Cuisine-type meals, including meat, starch, veg pureed meatrunny whipped potatos with margarine or melted cheese pureed peas or carrots etc hummus pureed refried Beans with cheese yogurt SF jello or pudding
  10. same here ! i was banded on 3/25 and have been doing nothing but sipping down yogurt smoothies & Soup. never thought i'd say it, but i am looking forward to pureed meat ! LOL
  11. i agree, you could probably use more Protein. i've been living on: * Protein shake (1 per day for my first week post surg) * strained Soups * yogurt smoothies * crystal light * sugar free Jello my doc also has me eating 1 chewable Vitamin a day. after next wednesday, i get 2 protein shakes a day. i can't wait for day 15 when i can actually have "food" (hummus, thin oatmeal, etc). how is everyone else doing?
  12. hi girls ! i got home last night. the pain isn't too bad. the liquid painkiller helps take the edge off. walking around is not hard at all (i was expecting it to be). i'm wearing an elastic band around my waist. i've never sipped so much in my life LOL.
  13. where did you find those 42g protein bullets ? and did you start taking them right after surgery, or did you wait ?
