  2. It depends on the doctor really. Sometimes they put some saline in at surgery to help the band to "sit" properly. I had 4cc put in my 10cc band at surgery.
  3. It depends on what her surgeon says . I had my first fill at abt 7wks. I have been paying for my fills as and when I needed them. It's not very easy to say whether £700 for 1yr is ok or not coz it depends on how many fills she will need. For some pple it takes just 1 fill to get good restriction yet for some it can take more than 6. So it's really hard for me to say
  4. It's actually Droitwich Spa not Leamington Spa, sorry, my mistake. I don't know if it's nearer to you than Birmingham. Their website is www.bmihealthcare.co.uk. The one I go to (Dolan Park, Worcestershire) is www.wiseaftercare.org. In Birmingham checkout www.wlsgroup.co.uk. The wlsgroup have some good packages they are offering at the mo. Hope this helps.
  5. I live in Wolverhampton and I had my op done in Bromsgrove (Dolan Park). I also go there for my fills. If she can't find fill providers in Coventry there is lots of providers around Birmingham and in Leamington Spa
  6. You didn't say how much saline is in your band. I suppose it's like starting all over again and because you have been through this before, you know how frustrating it is to wait for the right restriction. Because you have lost 100lbs before, you know this band does work. Don't give up, hang in there. I lost 0lbs between surgery and my fourth fill. I also wasn't making the right food choices. But after my fourth fill which took me to 7.5cc in a 10cc band, I am now losing steadily. Never give up, never, never, never. Keep us posted on your progress.
  7. Weighing in can be very depressing. I just had to get rid of my scales 2wks ago. I asked a friend to keep them for me and I haven't weighed myself in 2wks. I'm weighing in tomorrow.
  8. I have always had a problem with keloid scarring. I had my ears pierced years ago and I developed terrible keloids on my ears and they kept getting bigger (THE KELOIDS) until they were surgically removed. I also had steroid injections to stop my skin scarring again . The surgeon said that my skin overreacts to scars. I also had a C.Section and had the same problem but this time the keloid didn't grow bigger. I have keloid scarring from my band surgery but they are not growing so I'm not really bothered. I've learnt to live with it.
  9. I was banded on 23 Oct and had my first fill on 1st Dec. I havent lost any weight post op and my restriction does not feel that good. I am already looking to book my second fill
