  1. I know exactly how you feel. My son is too huge to carry all the time, but I do pick him up quite often, and it's been hard on both of us that I can't do it right now. It's also been difficult when carrying out discipline--normally, if he won't go into time out on his own, I'll carry him there. Also, tonight we went to the mall and he didn't want to leave--well, again, I would normally either pick him up or take his hand and pull him, but I had to find a whole new approach. It took some convincing, but he finally did what he was told!
  2. Good for you! Sometimes you need a little taste to satisfy the craving.
  3. Ugh, I know just what you mean. I have a 3 year old also, and an 8 year old. I do feed them healthy meals, but it's just stuff that I can't have right now. Also, the fact the Halloween just passed hasn't helped matters! LOL! Anyway, today is much better--I got a hold of myself and I'm back on the plan!
  4. Hi there! I was just banded on October 24th of this year. My starting weight was 260 lbs, and I'm trying to lose 110 lbs--I've lost 24 lbs so far! Woo! Hoo! I was banded by Dr. Michael Snyder, in Denver, CO. He's amazing! I'm 34 (almost 35), and mother of three boys. I stay home with my 3 year old, and I also sell women's clothing on ebay. I love film, music, literature, shopping, fashion, rafting, hiking, camping, the ocean, and more. I'm laid back and enjoy a mellow social life. I'm not into drugs or heavy drinking. I'm also somewhat of a liberal. Go Obama! I live in Castle Rock, CO, which is between Denver and Colorado Springs. It would be great to find someone nearby, but it's not neccessary. Just hoping to find support from someone that is like-minded and has had a successful journey. Thanks so much!
  5. I can definitely tell a difference!! You're looking much slimmer! What I've noticed, when looking at a lot of before and after pics, is the shape does seem to be the same but smaller, in most cases. I think the people whose shape has changed, are the ones that have really stepped up their exercise, i.e. running, weight lifting, yoga, etc. I don't know what you're exercise program is, but maybe if you started something with strength training, you'll see your body transform. Good luck!
  6. I'm not really sure how to take your response... I'm already aware that I need to let my body heal, which is why I feel awful about what I did today. I also know that I'm going to be hungry. Mostly, I know that I'm human and this won't be the last time I "F" up. If all of us were set in "self control department", none of us would have to have this surgery in the first place. Nor would we need a website that offers support and encouragement.
  7. Thanks, Allison. I went into the chat room after I posted this, and I received a lot of encouragement and good advice, much like yours. Thank God for this website! I know every doc is different, what diet does yours have you on? What are you having a hard time with? You can always message me if you need someone to talk to. Thanks for your kind words.
  8. Hi guys! I got banded 10 days ago. I'm doing very well with losing, and have lost a lot of weight in just a week and a half. However, I caved today. I'm supposed to be on a soft food, high protein, low carbs, low sugar diet, and I completely fell off the wagon. I ate almost a whole packet of maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal for breakfast, huevos rancheros (minus the tortilla) for lunch, 3 bite size milky ways, 2/3 of a corn dog for dinner, and tomato soup with cheese crackers for my "second dinner"...and I still want to eat!!! I don't know what to do! I'm worried that I'm going to stretch my pouch and mess the whole thing up! Please help! BTW, I am supposed to eat 6 times a day, but no more than 4 oz. at a time.
