  1. Randy: Sounds like you had a really good time. I enjoyed seeing you guys. Your pic is lovely!
  2. Courtney wasn't looking forward to coming, but after she met everyone, she couldn't stop talking about how neat everyone was! She is a bit more supportive of LB than she was before. Thanks for helping me to win her over. She and my Mom are my biggest fans; it would be a tough process without their support.
  3. All of the pics are wonderful! I'm so glad I was able to spend time with some wonderful folks. Of course, special thanks to the great photography; the couples pics are really nice.
  4. I eat more, and move less. I often put other's needs ahead of my own. I end up eating late at night. l usually eat big portions. I don't eat often enough. I take lots of meds that add extra weight, or make me hungry. I like exercise, but after working out for months at a time and losing 10 lbs, I get discouraged. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to have the band as my helper, my tool.
  5. Thanks. I'm looking at the Baylor Dallas program with Dr. Kuhn and associates.
  6. Congratulations, KennyStang! I am in the process of getting approved by UHC as well. You are never too young to be healthy.
  7. This is Anita, a pre-bandster. I'd like to come and meet y'all.
  8. Bless you on tomorrow! I said a little prayer...
  9. I just talked to my insurance, UHC. They will cover 90% for in-network docs. I would love to hear suggestions from some successful Dallas-area Bandsters. Thank you for your valuable feedback!
  10. Bless each of you for encouraging those of us who are considering the lap band. I spent way too much time reading the complications thread, and got scared. The pictures, the notes, the progress reports are sooo powerful and positive. I'm calling United Health Care tomorrow!
  11. I loved your message-from the quote at the bottom to the advice about complications. Too late-I read most of the complications forum, until I realized that many entries were by the same people. I want to be informed, but in a balanced way. I am interested in the monthly meetings; I think it will help me feel less isolated about my lap band process. Most of my family and friends have never heard of lap band, or they feel that I am just fat and lazy. Thanks for your encouragement:p
  12. I am so glad to find DFW support. Thanks!
  13. Hi, everyone! After reading Lab Band posts for the past six months, and coming out of denial about my weight, I am ready to start the insurance process for lab banding. About me: I live in Dallas. I am a 47/y/o woman weighing 245 lbs. I am 5'6" tall. Found out in 10/05 that I have hypertension, sleep apnea, high tryglicerides, and impaired kidney function. Both parents are/were diabetic, so I'm next. I have been working out on and off for a year, and never lost a pound. Diets have not worked, either. I am embarassed, but relieved to admit all of this. The truth will set me free (hopefully). Any encouragement is appreciated! Thanks for reading this confession!
