  1. Hi Bryan! I'm getting my surgery at Penn by Dr. Noel Williams. Thanks for the warm welcome! Jon
  2. Greetings from the City of Brotherly Love! I'm about to get banded on 11/10, and I can't wait for my knee and back to stop hurting. I have a detached medial meniscus and have been walking with a cane for the past 6 months. I've been having trouble with overeating for my whole life and I hope that, after banding, I'll get sick if I overeat, thereby providing me with negative reinforcement and forcing me to develop new eating habits. Phen-fen worked so well with me, I was extremely pissed when it was withdrawn. Anyone with a similar experience? Hope to hear from y'all soon! -Jon
  3. Right you are. Good luck with your surgery. -Jon
  4. Hello! My name is Jon and I'm here in Philadelphia. I work in the New York area and I'm scheduled for my lap-band surgery on 11/11. I did really well on Phen-fen and was very disappointed when it was withdrawn from the market. I'm hoping that I can get on the road to feeling better, especially the pain in my back and knee! I just got home from my pre-admission testing and was browsing around the Web and landed here. After attending insurance-mandated group sessions at the hospital here in Philly, I get the impression that there are far more women than men getting this procedure...it almost seems as if the only men involved in the bariatric surgery universe are the surgeons! Best of luck to all, Jon
