  1. Hi Everyone~ I am just wondering from those of you who have been banded already...... I think I have read somewhere that "lapbanders" are only expected to lose something like 60% - 70% of the weight they need to lose. (In comparison to GBP which % of weight loss is higher - initially.) I guess my question is....after having the procedure, are you now within a healthy weight range (no longer reading overweight or more on the dreaded charts)? I've been considering lapband surgery for a long time now, and want to make sure I can get back into the healthy range! Thanks so much for your input!!
  2. Hi Everyone~ I'm back into the lap band process again...... I'm gonna need a buddy if anyone is interested. I'm just getting started and would love support!!
  3. I am April 22nd as well! Less than 3 weeks.
  4. LOL Sherri! I was the same as you. I used to drink 6 cans (12 oz size) of Dt.Mtn Dew by noon! With will power, I have been soda free for 8 weeks and 1 day. If I can do it, anyone can do it! Best to you!
  5. I needed this post as well. Thanks brighterdays for posting. I wanted to be educated and aware of what to expect. But I guess pre-surgery nerves get the best of me. Glad there are "good" stories out there!
  6. I am expecting to be off for 4 weeks - I have a very physically demanding job.
  7. I can relate to other ppl. Husband is so supportive! I am such a lucky wife. My mom can't understand why I would CHOOSE to have surgery when I could just "not eat that or spend more time in the gym". I haven't even told my dad. He would be even less understanding. It's OK. They will be supportive as the weight comes off. So for now, I have my wonderful friends and husbands support.
  8. Don't forget me....April 22nd!
  9. I can't wait to wear a large...or my ultimate goal of a medium again!
  10. I love spanx. I wish mine were too loose. In fact, mine are the exact opposite! They may help with the hunger issue for you during the dinner. Best wishes!
  11. Hi everyone~ My surgery has been moved to April 22. I am now officially an April bandster. (I will change my siggy!). What is our name?
  12. Hi Everyone~ Knowing and experiencing everything that you have with the band...would you still have had the procedure done?
  13. Ijust asked my dr's office about this today. They said I am not allowed to drive for 2 weeks, and since my job is very physically demanding - I should expect to be off for at least 4 weeks. I am not allowed to return to work until I am 100% able to perform my job with no restrictions.
  14. I am a huge gum chewer. Is it true no gum post-op?
  15. I am close. I had my last weigh-in today. Monday info goes to ins company for approval. I should be scheduling my surgery by end of next week. I am excited! I am expecting to get banded by the end of the month.
  16. Can't help ya much. My nutritionist said no Slim Fast - not that much protein for the calories. I am drinking Worldwide Pure Protein shakes. 150 cals, 36 grams of protein per shake. I like them because they are not too thick or gritty.
  17. As othes ppl have said...they go by initial weight. HTH
  18. My last weigh in is on Saturday. I am super excited! I was on the 6 month plan. Papers get submitted to ins on Monday. I should be approved by Thursday. Best wishes to you!
  19. Why no SF gum? I love Trident and chew it constantly!
  20. Why no sugar free gum? Like Trident? I am addicted to Trident!!!
  21. Hi Everyone~ How long have you been banded?
  22. I love my WII Fit! Thanks for the info on the Jillian version!
  23. Has anyone been told that they will have a lifting restriction after surgery? If so, how much weight and for how long? TIA
  24. My eval was about 20 mins long. Basic questions. Nothing I haven't said 100 times already!
