  1. No idea. I just ignore them. I figure if Alex needs to put them there to help pay the expenses of running the site I don't mind. They are kinda silly though. Most of them are for bariatric surgery which none of need since most of us have had it already.
  2. Try refried beans. They are very high in protein and go down pretty easily even when your band is a little tight.
  3. My doctor has 2 offices. His regular practice and the lapband center which is inside the hospital. All fills are done at the hospital office but no x-ray or flouro. Just him, me and the needle. In an emergency he will see lapband patients at the other office but that's rare since he's at the hospital 2 1/2 days a week and his partner is there the other 2 1/2.
  4. I've had fill as close together as 2 weeks. I think you should get it now. You really don't want to do it right before your cruise.
  5. I agree, Larry. Monday is a bad day to weigh. BTW, you still have that extra 100 subtracted! 179.2 here!
  6. Mine was $100.
  7. I would have started working out sooner. I didn't join the gym until 10 months after surgery.

  9. Good job, Molly. Way to go!
  10. Stool softener isn't go to make you go. Get some Benefiber and throw a teaspoon in everything you drink. It's flavorless and dissolves completely. You don't even know its there. You can also take 2 Tablespoons of Milk of Magnesia but make sure to drink at least 8-12 ounces of water with it or or it wont work.
  11. I drink the Carnation for the taste and Vitamins. The extra protein is a bonus.
  12. Inches lost are much more important than pounds. As Lilium said, muscle weighs more than fat. Keep losing the inches and eventually the scale will catch up.
  13. Was it a premixed one? I found that those are pretty nasty. I buy protein powder and mix it with skim milk along with a pkg of Carnation Instant Breakfast. That way it not only tastes better it also has alot of vitamins and another 5g of protein.
  14. Oops...my bad. It is lapband.com
  15. Capsules can generally be broken open and just the contents taken. Powders usually taste horrible. If its time released its the little balls inside not the capsule itself. The Capsule dissolves immediately upon touching the stomach acid.
  16. If anyone is interested friend request ME Put LBT in the message and post a link to your page so others can friend request you too.
  17. There's nothing to defend. You realized you needed to do something and you did it. If anyone has an issue with the way you did it, well that's their issue not yours. They're probably just jealous! You did a great job and look wonderful. Enjoy your success. You deserve it.
  18. Just found this thread and wanted to say hi. I was banded 6/10/08. Its been a long journey but I'm finally within 20 pounds of my goal.
  19. I had BCBS of Michigan when I had my surgery and it went very quickly. I needed a psych eval, some labs and a 6 month supervised diet. My PCP said due to my past attempts he was able to write in his letter that I had already met that requirement. We had open enrollment in April and I discovered that it was covered. My company changed to BCBS as of May 1. I went for my consultation with the surgeon on May 15 and had my surgery on June 10. So it was a total of 3 1/2 weeks.
  20. You should be blown away! Look at you!!!!! Good job. What a difference a year makes. Happy Bandiversary.
  21. Lortab and Vicodin are the exact same thing. 5mg hydrocodone and 500 mg acetaminophen. Just different brand names. A mid back chiropractic adjustment will knock that gas pain out in 2 seconds!
  22. I posted this in another thread but I think it deserves its own. I received a letter today from the National Marrow Donor Program telling me that I may be a match for a patient awaiting a transplant. I've been on the registry since 1995 and never been called on. I am so excited about the possibility of doing this. I've wanted to for so long. The more I think about it the more I think that everything happens for a reason. Maybe, after years of wanting to have lapband surgery I finally was able to do so so that I would be healthy enough to possibly save another life. I doubt that they would have accepted me before. I've never been terribly religious, but maybe the G_ds smiled down and said lets make this one healthy so she can save that one. Anyway, I don't know why it's happening now but I'm so stoked!
