  3. Welcome! You got an answer from the expert.
  4. Welcome. I would suggest searching this forum for others with low BMIs and also asking the question in the general discussion area where you'll get more suggestions.
  5. Welcome, the test was successful!
  6. Welcome. You might want to ask this question in the general discussion area to get more help.
  7. Welcome and congratulations on getting a date.
  8. EVERY patient, regardless of ability to pay or not, MUST receive the same care by law.
  9. Call and ask to speak to the case worker who has been assigned to you. Get her name and extension and address all concerns to this person only. Welcome and congratulations!
  10. Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming surgery date. There is a wealth of info here so read and post!
  11. Welcome and congratulations on getting a date. PB is a productive burb and if you use the search function, you'll find out a lot more. LOL.

  13. Welcome and congratulations on your success! Please join in the discussions and share your experiences with others.
  14. Welcome and congratulations on being banded. Try some ice on the incisions. You could also call the surgeon's office and ask them since I'm sure they get inquiries all the time.
  15. Welcome! Congratulations on your surgery date and your graduation. I would suggest posting a "needle phobia" thread in the general discussion area. I'm sure you'll get MANY helpful suggestions.
  16. Some people have symptoms and others don't. If you're really concerned, you can ask your surgeon to do some diagnostic testing.
  17. I can understand your frustration. I only told 2 people and that's how it remains. For me, that was the right decision. What's done can't be undone so try and ignore your MIL as much as possible and keep positive thoughts knowing you're on your way to a healthier and happier you.
  18. All of your MDs are on board and supportive so I don't think you'll have a problem. Read through the forum and you'll find many people who take medications for depression and other conditions who have been approved.
  19. The lastest research shows that NSAIDS do NOT erode the band and can be taken. I have severe arthritis in my knees (need them both replaced) and take Aleve with breakfast and another with dinner. For severe pain, I have vicodin but rarely take it.
  20. Dumping syndrome can result when you have the stomach surgically altered as with gastric bypass or the sleeve. Because the stomach is bypassed to a major degree, the food dumps right into the intestine. This can result in diarrhea, vomiting, cramping pain, etc.
  21. Talk to the MD who prescribes your meds and ask for a referral to see a registered dietician. Maybe your diet can be adjusted to deal with the sugar cravings.
  22. You're experiencing carb withdrawal and that headache should go away after about 3 days. If it doesn't, call your surgeon's office.
  23. Congratulations! I know you're VERY happy and I hope all goes well. Keep us posted on your progress.
  24. He/she will ask about your medical and surgical history, any allergies, and will assess your airway to make sure there are no problems. It's also YOUR chance to ask questions so make a list. I was not weighed at this visit.
  25. I had no coffee restrictions and drink several cups a day. LOL.
