Phentermine?
Yup motivation is key in everything. I finally have my husband on board. He was being a major sabotage, but i told him turkey burgers and egg beaters, and yogurt etc are for a lifetime, so get used to it. He complained for a month or so. Now he is over it:D I go to the gym 4 times a week. I also have a trainer, that REALLY helps with motivation!! Highly recommend that! I also just signed up for a college class that is aerobics, so that should help too:D BTW i am not yet banded. I am trying to change lifestyles now, not later. So when i do get banded it will be closer to a routine.

Yes sorry:)

Phentermine?
Where do yo live? Have you asked your dr if its safe to take with the band? If you live in Sacto I wouldnt mind working out with you. And we could keep each other motivated. All i talk about when it comes to food is "how many calories is in that" yeah its annoying but this is the rest of my life, i am sure eventually i will know:)

Phentermine?
Thank you for all the responses, I still am looking at getting the Lap band, I want a lifetime of weight loss. But i have been out of control for so long that my dr put me on Phentermine for 11 weeks. He said no more then that. It hasn't given me the energy everyone talks about, maybe insomnia lol, but just dry mouth and sweaty palms, no high blood pressure yet. I just need it to curve the appetite. I now can actually eat a real serving and be satisfied. I am hoping this will help me into the band easily. I have been workin my a$$ off since orientation, and it has showed, but slowly i stoped loosing and my munchies were getting worse then ever, plus im doing the healthy ways class. I hope one day to be able to say I have kept my weight off for 10 yrs:) That is my ultimate goal and we will all get there!

Phentermine?
Anyone taken it? If so, you know how it doesnt make you hungry? Is that kinda what its like having the LB or bypass? I just got put on it for my Healthy Ways class, for 12 weeks, and I am not jittery, i do get dry mouth and sweaty palms but other thenthat i dont have a need to eat. im eating to sustain basically.. If that is what the Lap band does for us, I am super excited. I hope someone can help with this one.:w00t::ohmy::thumbup:

I AM SO MAD at kaiser right this moment. You know i am on their steps plan, and every time i senda payment they put it on my daughters acct not mine, so i called today to get my online access and it said i was terminated like seriously! So now im dealing with them:( Sorry just had to vent. I am so glad i called today instead of next week at my appt! You think their billing would know what acct is due, instead my daughters acct has a positve. OMG i just found out my daughters acct you know the $5.00 plan had a 500 credit sitting on it, and they are asking why im not paying my bill!!! oh my gosh. Ok onto the positive. I am hoping since i am already down 30+lbs with the 1200 cal diet that it will be an easy process after next wed. I am also taking helathy ways thru kaiser so i hope they see that and dont make me do the nutriton class since i am doing one currently.

It is a scheduled class, and there were people from all sizes there, some were heavier then me some were only 20 lbs away from goal, ( i was like i wish) but you can call the health department at West sacs clinic and ask for information:) I so far love it.. BTW not sure if you saw my update message they gave me your old appt i think, 1/8 but i took it cause 12/31 will almost be impossible to get there and back before my babys daycare would kick her out.. That is just a bad travel day.. Oh well maybe the more weight I loose the more they will see I am dedicated????

Yeah I am going to call today, I was being patient. My appt was for the psych.. That was the order they had me do.. Ok Starting weight: 263 Current weight 231 Height 5'5 I have been pretty strict, but i have now hit a Plateu and to be honest it is a very discouraging one. My Trainer said put the scale away, because I am doing a lot of weight training... Every day that i go to the gym. Do you live in Sacramento? I recommend doing Kaisers Healthy Ways program..I started it last monday, they teach us the foods that are good for us, and teach us how to deal with emotional eating, and stress, and all that stuff that contributed. I want to try and get as low as I can before surgery so that its easier on my body..

I am in Carmichael, well Madison and Manzanita and at 5 am it took me 1.5 hrs to get there. Pretty smooth sailing.. just don't walk in with a coffee.. lol. Ok, so I had my PCP referral sometime in the beginning of October.. about a week or so later i looked online at my appts and saw my orientation, then about a week after that got the letter in the mail. So i think it all depends on when you get the referal. My Orientation was on Nov. 4, 2008. I maintained until that day. That weight is the "starting" weight.. My orientation did end around 11:45.. My next appt isnt until Dec 31 which I need to call on because that will not be a fun drive. Well since the orientation i have lost 31.5 lbs. just by doing the calorie reduction and joined Fitness 19 and paid for their trainer, SUPER CHEAP! Membership is 15.00 and trainer is 20.00. If you need anything feel free to contact me:D

Question for all you Banders or Non Banders :)
Yeah he said it was just a common thing because of slippage etc with time.. but im sure lots of people keep theirs for a lifetime:) But about the weight loss.. i know you are a new bandster teri so you might NOT want to read this, but go on this site in the area where girls are mad because they are GAINING all their weight back, and others that are not loosing. That is what i was refering to. It is not a guarantee. My dr told me if i go thru with it to have success i HAVE to keep coming to support groups for a min of 5 yrs. Because the first 5 are the hard years. I just started this thread to see if i was the ONLY person that heard that the band doesnt really ristrict us much, that it is ALL mental. The Water diet, anyone can go on a 100 calorie water diet and loose 7lbs a week... so it is normal for the big weight loss especially in the beginning. I was just seeing if anyone even tried to follow a bandster diet off the band... but im guessing not... Good luck to everyone! All of our goals are the same! To be healthy, and smaller then we are! And i am sure whatever way we go we will get there:) And work our a$$ off to stay there.

Question for all you Banders or Non Banders :)
The dr told us at orientation that 30% of patients fail in the first year, and the statistics go up after that. He said its very hard for people to keep it off up to 5 yrs, and that is WITH the band. He said that its a lifestyle change either way we go. And the only surgery that is the most guaranteed is bypass, but that he doesnt recommend it because of the risks.. It is just so confusing, i am not stoping my lap band journey, because the apts are still scheduled im just going to see what i can do i guess.. You can stretch your belly back out, and they say a huge percent have to ahve the band removed after 7yrs.....

Question for all you Banders or Non Banders :)
weight loss is so frustrating:( Have either of u ever used a trainer? I paid 50 for 3 sessions for the first time today.. And i plan on paying more and more.. do they help? The gyms ya know talk great about them lol. And i got the Wii fit for fitness classes in my living room lol, and so far it has helped i love how you can monitor your progress:)
