I'm going from using glp-1 to bariatric sleeve surgery
I'm so glad that the surgery went well for you! I hope it does for me, too. I, too, thought I could do it on my own. I can't. I'm grateful for this new support group.

Before and After Pics
You all inspire me so much! I'm 18 days away from my bariatric sleeve surgery. I've had all sorts of emotions these past 9 months, including worry that getting this surgery would be a huge mistake. Your stories, your struggles, your successes, and your photos empower me and help me see that I am on the right track. I need this surgery, I know, and it's going to be a game-changer for me. Thank you and congratulations, every one of you! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I'm going from using glp-1 to bariatric sleeve surgery
I'm in my 50s. I've been obese for 30 years. I have many comorbitities. I've been losing weight since September 2025 through swimming and water aerobics, eating well, drinking lots of water, using Zepbound, and using my CPAP. I am paying almost $500/month for my Zepbound and I can do that long-term, so I am getting bariatric sleeve surgery on August 3rd. My insurance won't pay for my Zepbound, but they will pay for my surgery. 🤔😐🤨 I already feel much better since September. My highest weight was 308. I currently weigh 223. My goal weight is 120. I'm 5 feet 2 inches tall. I've decided to not be embarrassed, ashamed, or shy about my health journey with anyone who makes comments, asks questions, or wonders why I'm losing weight. I've been unhealthy and overweight for so long and now, I have all sorts of health problems. I'm doing what's best for me and I won't let haters, judgy family members or acquaintances, or strangers upset me with their opinions, reactions, words, or looks. I'm determined to get healthier for me, my adult children, my grandkids, and my pets. Glp-1 medicines and bariatric surgeries are effective, safe tools that can make people healthier. Thank goodness for science, technology, medicine, and people who choose to be in the medical industry. I hope to connect with you all in this online support group. Thank you.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE QUESTIONS
Hi, I'm new here. I've decided that I'm just going to be open and honest about my health journey if anyone asks or makes comments. I have nothing to be ashamed of. Glp-1 medicines and/or weight loss surgery are effective tools to help many of us who struggle with being overweight or obese. I'm working hard on my health, my overall well-being, and my quality of life. If someone asks me something or makes a comment, I will respond honestly and concisely. I will not let anyone's judgements, biases, or ignorance hurt me anymore. As someone who has been obese most of my adult life, I've already endured that for decades. Part of my health journey is to not worry about others' opinions of me anymore. I know that I'm making healthy choices. I know that I have a good medical team supporting me. And I know that I am heading in the right direction for my health and longevity.

A huge fan of Zepbound!
I've been using Zepbound since February 2026 and it's been awesome! I eat on a schedule, I'm never hungry, and I've lost 62 pounds so far.
