crzytchr, Does you insurance(s) have a max deductible? I know when I had my surgery that my max out of pocket copay was $2000 and the rest of this year I don't have to pay ANYTHING for anything else I need done. And for that matter I am taking full advantage of it. I had an adonimal CT scan (I had some pain) so I don't have to pay anything until it resets Jan 1st. Check and see.

ok, so I think I need to start steadly measureing my portions. cause I am missing the out on the "full" feeling. Is it a new feeling I am supposed to feel? Cause I have a bad habit, I eat just 1 bite too many and I don't feel anything before I get stuck. So my question is what am I missing. Also for you ladies that found the "sweet spot" Do you know it when you eat or is it a measured out portion and then you are ok? I am so confused I think.LOL I just don't feel "Full" the bite before I get stuck. Thanks for the input! Michele

Ok so here is my update. So, the last 2 weeks or so I have not been doing my walking due to cold weather (not cold for me, but for my 2 year old) Still losing about 1lb a week and not eating to healthy although with some restriction I have been eating less say 1.5 cups. I really need to learn how to eat slower or chew better, cause I get stuck often! Very uncomfortable! That and I need to stop and make sure the bite I just swallowed is gonna make it down before I take another one. With 2 kids it's hard to concenterate on myself. So, work in progress just thought I would share with my peeps! Who understand me LOL! BTW, I have had 2 fills with now 3cc in a 10cc band. Michele

Sunday weigh-in........... survey says....... 333lbs! Down 5 pounds this week! ok ok ok so I guess It's because of the liquid diet after the fill on tuesday. But as far as restriction? Minor if any. It's ok though. 5 weeks till my next fill. Hope you all are doing well, I didn't get an email telling me there was new posts, so I had a lot to read! Bye

Ok, so I got my first fill yesterday and found out I have a 10cc band, if I recall, (I always forget what was discuss) and I got 2cc's and am on clear liquids for 2 days, full liquids for 2 days, and mushies for 2 days, then back to regular foods. I can't tell yet wether or not I have restriction, but I am not too hungry. However, I belched a lot after the fill. Wierd or normal? I am optimistic that I may have restriction. Sometimes I physic myself out on just what others post, like when all others are upset that they don't feel restriction after a fill I feel like well if they don't then I won't either. Ya know what I mean?

I have to agree, just like in the show "The Biggest Loser", the bigger one lose more much faster. I have to lose close to 200 pounds to be at my final goal. I walk 1 mile uphill everyday, and this week I don't think I have lost anything. However, I feel better and look better as well just remember also with all this protein we eat helps build muscle. So you may be getting "Smaller" without the weight loss. Measure yourself and see if the numbers change. I am going to do the same tomorrow. Good luck you'll be fine!

Sunday Weigh-in... Survey says..... down 2 pounds this week!! Yay! Now this couldn't make me happier, other than the fact I have no restriction and I know that I eat way too much! I can eat a lot.. I think the only reason I still am losing is because I walk 1 mile 5 days a week. I can wait until I get some fills and will eat less and still walk.. I will really be losing then. I think the key is to get moving. Really I do... and if I can get moving at 340 pounds so can you all! I told my hubby that I am just going to walk until I get to 300 then I will go to the gym. Hope all of you have a great wekk. I have to go or we will be late to Church!
  15. Hey there! Not too far from me at all. I was just checking out your page, and we have a few things in common. Like age, and a higher BMI, children, and so forth. So hopefully we can continue to talk and go through this journey together.

You know when I went to the Pysc. eval. she had the most awesome excercise routine. She picked 3 days a week that it didn't matter what or where she doing or was at that she knew she had to get thirty minutes in. So for instance if her days were Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Then Tuesday she found she was out of town and in a hotel, she knew that that was one of her had-to-do days, so she would walk around the hotel, or climb the stairs, just be consistly active for thirty minutes. It really dosen't matter what you do, as long as you move. Then when you get your three manditory days in throw in a day that you find to be convenient at that time. Like shopping at the mall on saturday (hello AC) But with the mall you can't stop to shop during the 30. The thing is finding those 3 days a week where you know you are usually able to exercise. Like I can't on Wed. Because of a full day then Church in the evening. But overall it works for me cause I am a great excuse maker of why I can't excercise today. Just thought I would share and maybe help some others like me out there!! Hope you all start the week with strong minds and lets do GREAT! TOGETHER! Michele:smile2:

Absolutly! I haven't been doing to terribly bad on the eating thing, keeping it semi inbounds. But I know the majority of the weight this week was due to moving the lawn with the push mower while the hubs was out of town LOL. Good incentive to start this week though!

    Introductions.

Hey Everybody! My name is Michele, I am 25 and I just had my lapband done on july 10th. When I started my process I weighed 372, BMI of 58.3 (hope that is close enough) Well I cam across this group and got a little excited! You see a lot of people in other forums have had the surger at a weight of like 220 or less, so I feel I have diffeent struggles then them, not to say they didn't need it as much as I did, just personally If I weighed 220 I would be jumping for joy! Also most patients that have a BMI of 55 or higher are more likly to opt for the Bypass. So I am so glad for there are others in my same boat! Hope to make some good friends on here and will check in again soon!!!! :biggrin2:

Good Monday all! So did anyone have a good weekend? Let me tell ya I am really glad it's monday and the hubby's at work. It is a real adjustment to fixing him and my 2 boys breakfast, lunch, and dinner, when he refuses to eat healthier (He is not overweight) and I have to make different choices for myself. Seems eaiser just fixing dinner for him on the weekdays. Few bad choices this weekend (eating) but today is a new day and back on track it is. Have a good week all!

Whew! I am pretty new and have just 2 posts in the post-op forum. Then someone just told be about the "Groups" So Yay! Whats going on with me right now. I feel like I didn't even have surgery! Except the painful port pain when I lean on a counter! But absolutly no restriction on mushies can tollerate to eat anything with very little will power! I need support and know if there is someone going through the same things. I really am trying, but enegry is low, I do walk a mile up hill 3-4 wimes a week, get 40-50grams of protien, multi-vitamin. all good, but I know I am only to eat like 2oz but I "feel" like I can eat 20oz! I am just praying that I can mussle up enough will power to get through till my first fill I really don't want to fail. I did not go through a major surgery to just fail another "diet"! So I am glad to find this forum and would love to find out how to join this group. Michele July 2, 2008 pre-op diet starts 372lbs July 10, 2008 Surgery 362 lbs July 22, 2008 1st post-op 350
  24. Ok so I have a lot on my mind and not a whole lot of time. First I want to get a group of people that I can get to know that have had their surgery about the same time I did July 10th, 2008 so I can share similar things with them. So you wanna be my friend? Also someone that started with a higher weight... like I have seen tons of banders that started at like 220 or smaller and sometimes I feel like we don't have a whole lot in common, not saying they didn't need it just as much as I did, just different struggles I believe. I started at 372lbs 2 weeks Pre-op. Dowm to 350 now. Or maybe mothers with small children that have a hard time when their child leaves that one chicken nugget and you just can't resist and you don't want to be wasteful. I have a 20 month old and A 5 year old. I dont' know really what I want. I can't wait until this coming Wednesday I can attend the support meeting so I can maybe meet others with the same struggles. I am also stuggling with will power! I have like NO restriction and I had a few set backs with eating too much. My mind was hungry and I was able to eat just fine! I told many that if I had the will power I wouldn't have needed this surgery in the first place. So I am trying my best! And definetly counting my days till my first fill. I have had port pain and just below the port pain. It is really painful but only like when I am wiping down the counters or doing the dishes. because I guess I am pushing against the counter. Normal? Hope so. Thanks for listening to my venting and stuff. It just feels good to type it out and get it out there. Even better when others share the same feelings!
  25. Hey all, my name is Michele, I am 25 and I just got banded 7/10/08. Yesterday I had my first post-op to get the staples and stiches removed and so far 12lbs down since surgery and 22lbs since 6/22/08 when I started my pre-op diet. So Yay! I can't say it has been without temptations and minor set backs when it comes to will-power! But with a husband that is not "overweight" and two boys ages 5 and 18 months there is yummy food that is hard to say NO to. LOL! But reading this forum I feel a lot better that many people are having these same problems. So, I look foward to talking to other "Bandsters" and sharing my trials and triumphs as well!
