  1. ok, this makes me feel better. i thought that i was a freak or something. was kind of scary just not knwoing what the heck was going on. ughhhh, slow and steady wins the race, I guess. thanks
  2. I just don't get why I do not feel the band at all. After your first fill were you able to eat a lot of food without restriction? It just seems to go down without any problems. I wonder if my band has slipped. I have called the doctor and now I am just waiting for a call back. Ughhh, this is so scary not knowing what is going on.
  3. Less than 1 week ago, I had my first fill. Now it feels like there is absolutely no band on at all. Even if I take a big bite, I do not feel the food passing down past the band. I can sit down and have a regular meal without a problem at all. I was given a 4cc fill in a size 9 band. I just do not know what is wrong with me. I am so depressed because I have stopped losing weight. I have only lost about 10-15 pounds since surgery way back in October. I am so frustrated with myself that I allow myself to overeat, but it is a problem that I have had my entire life and the reason why I had the band put on in the first place. Has this feeling happened to anyone else out there? Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. OMG...I just thought of another one...from my dad. He is not skinny though. He had always tried to express his concerns to me about losing weight as best he could. Lose weight for your health, please lose weight so that you do not have to be like me, I love you and I want you to be healthy, etc. But one day out of the blue...I guess I had been on a weight gain or something and my dad pulls me over to him. "You know i love ya right?" "yes", I reply...then he says "well I know that you like boys but as your father, I do have to tell you that guys don't like fat girls...I know this because I AM a guy...baby, you have got to lose weight!" I was like "no he did not just go there"!
  5. I have two... 1. Someone once told me that if I lost weight, that I would be so pretty like my sisters. Well now my sisters are fat like me...still pretty too! 2. I was a nanny in college and one kid says to me (I was only like 18 or 19 and had a baby face at that...always looked younger), "How old are you?"...I replied, "How old do I look to you?" She says..."you look 49!" I was thinking OMG...I never got that before, so I had to ask why she thought that and her reply was..."Well my grandma is 49 and she is fat like you." You know all I could do was laugh...it was funny how she equated my size with weight. She would think that I was 100 years old if she saw me now, LOL!
  6. How much would that tax amount be?
  7. I can't believe what I just read from you Patty...I just can't believe it! You just really do not get it, do you? Ughhh, oh well...so sad!
  8. Plain...why are you asking such a question? Perhaps they would be more gracious than Elizabeth. :^) Obama was more gracious than McCain throughout the entire campaign. Does it really matter after the fact, or considering that it will never ever occur?
  9. It is very hard to compare based of the circumstances surrounding this monumental time in history. This race stood for change from a past that was very difficult for so many. I think that Elizabeth was just able to see how important this win was for so many Americans. As for myself...I would have been very disappointed and very sad, but I certainly would have been able to deal with it. I have dealt with it for the past 8 years and longer. It is what we are used to and what we have had to deal with for years....but I guess we will never know.
  10. hehehe, how cute...yeah sherri made me tear up too. Watching MLK's I have a dream speech made me ball...spoke to my mom's friend who was there in D.C in '63 with her mother. Her mom is now 93 and just like Obama spoke of the woman who was 106...I am sure she has seen a great deal of change in her time too. Rosa sat so Martin could walk, Martin walked so Obama could run, Obama ran so that our kids could fly... I have seen that all over the place, but it is so inspiring.
  11. Here is the video...it was so touching to see her reaction. It is the second video down. Enjoy...I really enjoyed the whole show today. The View November 5 Hot Topics: Elisabeth Hasselbeck Reaction to President Barack Obama Election (Video)
  12. omg...the "I Have a Dream (MLK)" speech that Barbara had played made me cry again. I know that we have all seen it...but to see it again, especially after what has just gone down in history...it is beyond what my words can describe. We are living many people's dreams from so long ago. Actually, from not soo long ago. WOW!
  13. OMG...I caved in and I am watching The View. You all have to hear what Elizabeth (rep) is saying. What beautiful words poured from her mouth this morning. OMG! Crap...I am crying again...
  14. I know that we all already heard this...but look at the slideshow that is being played with his speech. Look at the faces of these people. They represent my face and my friend's faces. They represent my past, present and future. They represent the many different cultures that represent who I am. They represent hope not fear. The represent the struggles many of all races, sizes and beliefs that we have had to overcome. It is going to be an amazing day when the Obama family moves into the white house, which was built by slaves...and when Obama is sworn in on the steps of the Cap. building which were also built by slaves. I am sure those who built these never would have imagined the day that someone who looked like them would actually be able to reside there. Look at these faces...Obama won by a landslide. That says a lot to me! CNN.com - Elections
