Everyone reacts to their surgery differently and everyone follows guidelines that can be and are different across the board. I'm almost 13 years in from my first VS and almost a week in from my revision. Total Lost 90+lbs. Total re-gained 30lbs, total lost since revision last Friday, 5 lbs and counting. As for your comment at 9 weeks out, foods make you ill or they are not sitting right, for you, I suggest you go back to protein shakes for a few days and, broth, S/F Jello, egg whites, diet string cheese, watered down sugar free juice The program I am following is: 1 week clear liquids - I'll hit this, in 2 days. Weeks 2-8, same as above but adding in my protein shakes. Weeks 9-12 - soft foods, Salmon, Tuna and Protein Shakes ~ 2oz only, each meal. It is important to continue the protein shakes at this stage as well. No drinking 30 min prior to a meal, nor with and wait 30 minutes after to drink some water. For any food taken in, it helps either to put down your fork or chew for 29 "chews" each bite. @Amber - congrats on your surgery - just a little insight to food after bariatric surgery. All my favorite foods tasted off to me as well. By trial and error, you will find what you like. Sauces are not the best choice to "mask" the foods as they have sugar and some have carbs and they are considered a processed food. Pick your favorite protein or try a new one. Omit seasoning and use a bit of coconut oil to cook it in, stovetop, sauté pan. The one constant for everyone is Protein First. Your stomach is still healing as you continue to mentally heal as well. Take it slow and you will succeed. Remember why you are here. I could make a huge list of foods I no longer like lol, your now eating to live, not living to eat. It's hard but you'll get there. I just had my revision this past Friday and the first few weeks are tough, but this too shall pass.
