  1. Hi Everyone:smile2: I haven't been able to post since surgery, so I thought I would update y'all. I was banded last Wednesday (10/22) by Dr. Atkinson. As of today, I have lost 21 pounds!!! I really cannot believe how fast the weight is coming off. I know I'm not going to lose this fast for very much longer, but I am enjoying it while it lasts. I have had some trouble with pain over the lastr week. Not from the port or any other incision sites, but from a combination of gas settling in my chest and the vigorous sternal rub that the anesthesiologist gave me. I am bruised from my collarbone to my breast on the left side of my chest. Apparantly I had a hard time coming out of anesthesia, but I think that Dr. Link had the urge to dance a merry jig on my chest for fun. Anyway, all the pain is worth it, and I cannot wait to get healthy. By the way, sign me up, I will definitely see you all at lunch in November!!! Sloane
  2. Hi All! Thank you all for the kind words and wishes. I haven't been able to post since my surgery, so I wanted to share my status with everyone. I was banded on 10/22, and have LOST 21 POUNDS in the last week!!!!!!! My BMI went from 59 to 54. The worst pain for me has been from the sternal rub that the anesthesiologist had to give me to wake up. I have a huge, deep bruise on my chest. Also, it is taking a little longer than normal to get rid of all the gas pressure in my chest, but it is all worth it. I am so excited to be on my way to a better me. Thanks to everyone for the support! Sloane
