  1. That's my thing. The ONLY thing I have ever been able to take consistently was my birth control, and even then, if I ran out, I would forget to go to the pharmacy. I have a plethora of Vitamins that probably date back to 1998 that have been forgotten and left by the wayside because I am good for a while and then forget. I could NEVER do those cocktails they have to do!
  2. Glad you answered, CC. I just saw this. Yes, once the holidays are over and guests leave (long story :tongue_smilie:) it would be great to get a number of us together!
  3. Yeah, he's not feeling better... and I am sure he's none to happy at me for making him sick. I had the talk with hubby because, frankly, it gets a tad worse. I figured they were driving out by Saturday. Nope, seems they planned to stay here in DC until NEXT TUESDAY! :tongue_smilie: I told hubby that just wasn't okay with me, especially since this was somewhat sprung on us at the last minute. He said, "But you knew three months ago he was coming here." I said, "No, I knew three months ago he MIGHT be coming here. Hell, even HE didn't know for sure if he was coming here or going to Las Vegas until Monday... he said so himself just this morning!" 'Course hubby is feeling cruddy and didn't want to hear my "excuses" of why I want them to get a hotel for the second half of their visit cuz he's just feeling grouchy. He said just to tell him what I want him to say and he'll do it. Oh, and I love this: "You knew he had 17 days of vacation." Yeah, but ALL of it HERE?? I was hearing staying in New York for some time, etc. HELLO???
  4. Hubby's being very supportive with all of this. One other time, I went from 230 down to 180 through diet and exercise and when asked, he said he didn't really notice all that much. WTF?? Now even without asking, he said the other day that when I turned to the side, he noticed my little 23 pound weight loss. I coulda kissed him. Heck, I probably did. But yes, it IS noticeable already. Oh, and a little in my face too. It's one of the last places it goes, so it's the first place it starts to come off.
  5. Silly me! Whatever was I thinking??
  6. TOTALLY understandable, Lulu. You should have drama-free zones like that. You're entitled. Light your new candle and meditate on it. :tongue_smilie:
  7. Omg, that is INSANE!! I don't think people with HIV take cocktails as huge as that! So... if their bodies turn bad food into good, then -- as you said -- why do they need all THAT? And WHY not just eat GOOD food?? Those people sound like they got lobotomies along with their WLS... :tongue_smilie:
  8. That is the right saying, Kat. My grandmother LIVED by it! :tongue_smilie: And sadly, it's even more than wanting them to move to another room -- it's the whole "no quality time with my family with others here," sharing ONE bathroom that has a shower (the others have tubs), and we only have about 2200 SF of living space. Five adults and a baby in that little space is a lot. I just don't want to be sitting around in some group setting while trying to re-bond with my daughter and new grandbaby. I'll figure out a nice way to politely bow out. The friend is a good guy, and I'm sure he'll understand if he's told point blank what's going on. I just don't like the unconfortable aspect of it. And now to make things worse, hubby is coming down with what I am trying to get rid of.
  9. Yeah, I know... We have a blow-up mattress, but my mom is right: This is our time to spend with our daughter and new grandbaby. Hubby and his friend haven't seen each other in probably over 11 years, which in itself is sad too, but this is our family. Had we been given better notice, we could have maybe done something different, but it was all pretty much left up in the air. I don't like how this thing went down at all. :tongue_smilie: Besides, I don't know that they plan on leaving DC until next SUNDAY, which means we will have had them here for NINE DAYS. I have never even had FAMILY over for nine days!
  10. Hehehe, that's not a half-bad idea! We can order them ahead of time in size SMALL. :tongue_smilie:
  11. They know she's coming... subtle didn't work. :tongue_smilie:
  12. PJTP: I think I have too pull hubby aside and have him break the news to his friend that they need to get a hotel later on this week. This is a tough one. Just got off the phone with my mom, and she is right: Kiddo is coming on Wednesday with my new grandbaby. I haven't seen kiddo in 3 1/2 years, and have never met the grandbaby. This childhood friend of hubby's tentatively made plans to come out here a couple months ago, but honestly, until about Tuesday of this past week, we didn't know for sure if he was coming here or going to Las Vegas with his 16-year-old daughter. In the meantime, I made plans for kiddo to come since I am off and finally had some time I could commit to her. We have a four bedroom, but only three of them have beds. Obviously he and his daughter are taking up two rooms. My mom said, "They ARE leaving when DD gets there, aren't they?" I said that that wasn't necessarily the plan. They're leaving Wednesday by train to go to Times Square for New Years, and originally I thought they were going to get a hotel and stay there for a couple days and see some sights there too. Nope... I booked his train for him the other day and asked how long they were staying there, and they're literally turning right around and getting on a 3:00am train to come BACK this way. My mom said that since this is our daughter and we haven't seen her in so long and have never met the baby, and since the plans with hubby's friend were up in the air for so long, we need to ask them to get a hotel come Wednesday. These are the people that were SUPPOSED to show up yesterday and came a day EARLY. By Wednesday we will have entertained them about five days. I know they will spend a lot of time in DC, but at the rate this is going, they won't see much. Hubby and the friend went out to Hooters last night to see the pay-per-view fight and got home around 2am and sat outside and talked until 4:00. It is now noon and I am the only one up. I know my mom is absolutely right. However, I'm at a loss as to how to break it to them that hey, you have to leave. :tongue_smilie:
  13. Hehe, lap-band weight stalkerish, no? I just get used to people's sig lines and noticed the little purple asterisk. Can't say anything gets by me. Hell, just remember there are those of us who WISH we had only seven pounds to lose. If you got the snot issues that I have, you'd lose three in two days like I did. Half of your problem solved.
  14. Yeah, but unless I'm missing something, she's only up 3.8 since the last time she posted her weight, which shows 126 with a little asterisk by it (which I won't even ask why, lol). So that means only up 3.8 and 7 total from goal...? Am I right, Lulu?
  15. OH WOW, that sucks, Tap! And what's worse is the adjuster is just part of it. Then you have to get somebody to fix it... and how much damage can occur before it gets fixed? Can you at least throw a tarp over it until somebody gets out there to keep out as much moisture as possible? And by "you" I don't mean YOU. :tongue_smilie:
  16. Oh wow, so DH gets to experience this too?? lol Wait till I tell him. I thought we were both gonna lose it this time last year when I went through a bad bout of "issues" and crying and getting overly upset at stuff. I was crying at the drop of a hat; and while I don't have issues with crying, I don't cry like THAT. My boss noticed it too and thankfully asked me if I had had my hormones tested. Of course I said NO, at that time I was only 42. Well, I got tested and was off the charts low, pre-menopausal. I was also still on the pill. So I immediately got off, told hubby it was time for the ol' snip-snip, and after about 3 months things leveled off. And he just thought it was safe to get back in the water. Bwaaaaaaahaaaahaaaa! "Yes, dear, I know that I'm a raving lunatic, but look how hot I am while I'm coming at you with a meat cleaver."
  17. **GROSS-OUT WARNING** Thank you for asking. I guess the answer is yes and no. Don't feel BAD, but omg, I have never had so much sinus "stuff" in my life EVER! I have almost gone through an entire HUGE Costco-sized box of tissues just in the last few days. I can't believe a body can make so much "stuff" and not actually BE a slime machine. And what's worse is that I had to finally get up because it was draining down my throat so much that I was afraid I was gonna urp. I've just never had this before. I will likely go to the doc tomorrow if it's not almost gone as my fill is tomorrow afternoon! :tongue_smilie: Hello! I won't even wax my LEGS much less my nether regions! OWWWW!
  18. Oh, CC, and though I am so glad DD got her surgery and wouldn't want it any other way, I wish she could have had a chance to hang with the daughter of hubby's friend who is here through next week. She's 16 and very mature for her age too. I think they would really hit it off.
  19. Hey, CC, know what I just noticed? You are officially more than halfway past your goal weight loss!! You da bomb!!
  20. More like general anesthesia and a morphine drip afterwards! :tongue_smilie:
  21. Omg, I can't even think about how horrible that would feel. I get all woozy just trying to get my mind around it! :tongue_smilie:
  22. She is, she is! She be ebil like da debbil! :tongue_smilie:
  23. Apparently she has issues mingling with us mere mortals. I'm sure it's hard for her. Have a heart. :tongue_smilie:
  24. Snarky, table for one? Right this way, please... :tongue_smilie:
