  1. My mother in law went to Mexico in July for her band too. She also see's Kitty & Robin in Arlington as she lives in Bellevue. I just read a really heated debate on AP band or Realize on this website. 10cc seems to be the norm for both bands. I think really big tummies get the new 14cc ones. I think I will chat with my doctor again before surgery to see if he feels either way about the bands again. He said he has only been using the Realize band for several months in his office.
  2. RestlessMonkey~ Great website. Thank you. Wow it is heated over there. lol
  3. Thank you guys very much. Still so new to this website and trying to find stuff. Thanks again
  4. www.northwestfills.com Kitty & Robin
  5. Lisa~ Have you been on the Realize website?? I heard you can make a little chubby person and as you lose weight so does your person. lol I really like their website, but I like how the new AP can go up to 14cc. Not sure I would ever need that though. I also like the port better on the Realize. Who do you see for your lap band?
  6. Just wanted to find out the pro's and con's of each band if any. My doctor is giving me a choice of which one I want. Thanks, Julie
  7. I have Aetna through Comcast. My husbands last insurance was also Aetna and they wouldn't pay for it either. It's the employer that says yes or no to the plan. Comcast is almost like Microsoft they pay for everything. I have $880.00 out of pocket to pay for my surgery.
  8. Oh, Thanks for the ticker help.
  9. ShellShock~ I also heard they have a new AP band. Did you get the newer one or the old one? I saw on another board that they have improved that one as well.
  10. I think my hubby likes me chubby too, only because I think he's getting scared that I'm going to look HOT again and other people may think the same thing. My surgery is in Nov. and he's starting to come around. I'm seeing a counselor for the surgery and now we are touching on my depression. So much for the one visit. lol But it's helping. I lost my job in May- and it's really been hard finding another one paying well. Now the kids are back in school I'm at home alone. I thought it would be great- but it's not. Good luck!
  11. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking of going with the Realize because of many people getting their tubing poked. The Realize has some sort of metal next to the port so if it's hit- it won't leak. I'll check out the port sizes too when I see my doctor next. I liked the Realize one as it was thinner but the port rubber part was bigger to find it.
  12. I'm having Dr. Michaelson do my band in Nov. can't wait. I'll let you know when I go to a meeting.
  13. My mother in law had her band in Mexico. NWWLS/Everett would not take anyone that they didn't band. She lives in Bellevue and goes to a gal in Arlington named Kitty. I can get a number if you need it.
  14. A little over a month and counting down till my banding. What kinds does everyone have? My doctor gave me a choice of AP Lap Band or the Realize. Anyone have the Realize? I love reading all the info he gave me on both. I see the Realize can have up to 9cc in it. Does anyone know how much the AP can have total? I like the port better on the Realize- but that band with new name is pretty new to the states this year even though it's been around outside the US since 1996. Let me know if you have any thoughts on either band please. Also- having trouble to get the ticker to work. Not a big deal as I have a monthish to go. Thanks
  15. That's great to hear. Aetna should approve mine. It's a covered benefit under my husbands insurance. I just have to go through 90 days of doctors appt.s and follow their rules. I have done everything now except the psych appt which is next week. My last nutrition appt is Nov. 3rd and then off to insurance for approval. Gal in their office says normally an approval in under two weeks. I would really like to get it done before Thanksgiving to have the extra fews days off. Plus I would get out of having the family over and cooking this year.
  16. Congrsts~ My doctor won't set a date until Aetna approves. I'm hoping for Nov. 25th. I can't wait either.
  17. My mother in law said her port was sore too for a bit. I hope to have surgery in Nov. I have to complete a 3 month stint with my doctor for insurnace to approve. I'm hoping for Nov. 25th. My daughter (22) will have heres in Jan. after her 3 months is up. I'm so excited for both of us. Congrats on the weightloss so far. I've been on weight watchers and have lost 26 pounds so far. But need another 130 to be at the right size.
  18. I'm in Monroe, WA. I will be having surgery in Nov. with Dr. Michaelson. I can't wait. I had to wait for three months so my insurance would pay for it. It will be worth it. I've been on Weight Watchers since June 24th and I have loss 28 pounds. My mother in law was banned in July in Mexico. She's doing great so far.
