  1. Marie, My weight the day of surgery was 367.4 I currently weigh 256. I only followed the pre-op for 9 days butI lost from 375 to 367.4. on the pre-op. I have been at a complete stand still for 2 months now and I am getting very frustrated. How much fill do you have. I have 4 cc's. It is very good to have someone local to talk to.
  2. This is my doctor. I had surgery on 9/30/08.
  3. I have been going to Curves and using the Smart since December. I burn any where form 500 to 650 a workout. As the OP said I'm now on a 2 week 5 day plateau. I'm so frustrated. I got within .4 of my 100 lb mark and have been bouncing back and forth with 2-4 lbs. I also wonder if I'm not eating enough I eat between 1000-1300 daily. I did take a 3 day break and ate about 2000 calories a day and gained 5lbs. This scares me so much. I don't won't to spend the rest of my life on 1000 calories a day to maintain. If anyone has advice please let me know. my biggest weight was 411, I was 367.4 day of surgery (9/30/08) and this morning I am 270. I still have so far to go and this plateau is killing me. I have gotten so depressed in the last couple of weeks.
  4. I was banded on Sept. 30th and although I have lost well. (73 lbs) I also feel like I'm doing this all on my own. I only have 3cc in a regular 10 cc lap band. My worry is how long can will power last before I give in to the hunger. I have never felt a full feeling. I have had trouble eating meat at times .
  5. I joined curves and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. With the lapband their are no solid written in stone universal rules. All the rules vary by doctor. With that being said I am drinking decaf coffee as we speak.
  7. I was banded 9-30-08 and have lost 64lbs since Surgery.
  8. Mine is not on the list. It is by VHT Body and it is the extreme smootie in chocolate or strawberry. It has 35grmas of protein, 4 carbs and 170 calories.
  9. Hi everyone, My hubby just told me today that he wanted to go to Disney world for the week of Thanksgiving. I love Disney World. I have had my band for 4 weeks. I am supposed to have my first fill Nov. 5th. If I go to Disney what would I eat? We would have to eat counter service for finances and I can't think of any healthy options. Anyone experience anything like this> All help and suggestions will be appreciated. i also posted on food and nutrition board.

  11. I'm not sure what the Magee program is but I have Highmark insurance and was banded on 9-30-08. I had to go to the doctor once a month. It HAD to be in the month like January, February, March etc. even though it might only be 30 days it had to be in the calendar month. I hope that helps.
  12. I also had surgery on 9-30-08. My doctor has completely different guidelines. I was on liquid 1 week, pureed one week, and soft foods started on Tuesday. I am in no way advocating, for you to not follow your doctors orders but I think you will be fine. I have now lost 22 lbs since surgery. I lost the first week and then stalled out. I started to lose again this week after I started soft foods. I wish you the best of luck!
  13. I had or probably still have (just haven't let myself have it) a huge addiction to Dt. Dr. Pepper I used to drink 10-12 a day. I had switced to caffeine free a few years earlier but loved the carbonation. I was on pre-op diet 9 days before surgery and was banded on 9-30-08, I haven't had one in all that time but still want it as bad as ever. My head hunger is still there as well. I used food as my best friend, it has always made me feel better even though it was killing me. I am very emotional and mad at the world right now. I'm hoping it will get better when I start seeing results on the scales and get able to do things I haven't been able to do at this size.
  14. How long was everyone really swollen around port site. I was banded on 9/30/08 and I have an area as big as the palm of my hand that is still hard and swollen around the port. I look lop sided in the mirror. the soreness is getting better so I was wondering if this is normal?
  15. I was banded on Sept. 30, 2008 and on full liquids for 1 week which was anything that would fall off a spoon. I was able to go to mushies 2 days ago and have been tolerating well. My doctor said to never eat more than a cup but that we could eat a cup. I hear people on here talking about that you should only eat 1/2 cup and about not being able to get that down. I can eat my cup fine and if I would let myself I know I could eat more, I'm just not going to because I don't want to stretch my band. Am I the only person who has been allowed 1 cup and the only person who definateley could eat more. I am so scared of doing the wrong things and I so want this journey to be my last. It worries me to hear everyone saying only 1/2 cup when my doc said 1 cup. Thanks for any insight.
